Sharing what I learned from our extensive training in the "I Am A Leader" program! Road to BMship.

I'm one of the candidates in the "I Am A Leader" program led by BM Mark Anthony, and one of our tasks is to share our experiences and reflections from Module 2.

One of my biggest takeaways: leadership isn't about having all the answers — it's about having great conversations.

We learned the L.A.A.G.C. framework:

🎧 Listen – Hear the person, not just their words.
❓ Ask – Find the real issue behind what they're saying.
❤️ Acknowledge – Validate their feelings without babying them.
🧭 Guide – Help them find their own solution.
🤝 Commit – Create the next action together.

The biggest shift for me? I realized a leader's job isn't to convince people to stay, it's to understand why they want to leave first. And I can't control the outcome, only how I respond.

Grateful for this journey of growth. Excited for what's next!

Session 2 of our leadership workshop was all about one thing: people.

Because leading isn't just about strategy or numbers — it's about how you show up in the room when things don't go as planned, and how you show up for the person sitting across from you.
We broke it down with the L.A.A.G.C. framework for real conversations:

🎧 Listen — Hear the person.
❓ Ask — Find the real issue.
✅ Acknowledge — Validate the person.
🧭 Guide — Help them find a solution.
🤝 Commit — Create the next action.

And when the scenario isn't ideal — low turnout, low energy, low buy-in — the principle stays the same:

You don't control the result. You control your response.
Prepared for 30, only 3 showed up? Give those 3 your best. Deliver. Connect. Create an experience. Then ask why, and improve the system.

Leadership isn't tested when everything goes right. It's tested in the room, in the moment, with the people who actually showed up.

"Sayang ang pera," sabi niya noon.

Si Kuya J, 38, tricycle driver from QC. Apat ang anak. Noong 2022, nag-alok ako sa kanya ng simpleng life insurance — ₱100 a day lang, parang extra pamasada.

Sabi niya: "Sayang ang pera dyan, ate. Kailangan pa namin araw-araw."

Pero nung nasakyan ko ulit siya sa tricycle and napag usapan namin ulit yun, pumayag din siya. Kasi naisip niya: "Baka kailanganin din pala ng pamilya ko 'to balang araw."

Nitong nakaraang buwan lang, nabalitaan ko na na-stroke pala si Kuya J. Hindi niya kaya mamasada ulit.

Pero dahil may insurance siya:
✅ Nabayaran ang confinement sa ospital
✅ May pambili ng gamot habang naka-rest
✅ Nakapag-aral pa rin ang mga anak niya nang walang pagkaantala

Ngayon, kapag nakikita ko siya pag nadaan ako sa lugar nila, hindi na "sayang ang pera" ang sinasabi niya.

"Salamat, Ma'am. Kung wala 'yan, hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko."

Hindi mo alam kung kailan mangyayari. Pero pwede mo naman piliin na maging ready.

Sharing this para din sa awareness ng mga tao na, hindi man natin maisip na importante ngayon, pero baka bukas sa mga hindi inaasahan na araw, kailangan pala natin siya.
