We are proud to share a significant milestone in our commitment to fostering local innovation and community development. Last Tuesday, May 12, 2026, key representatives from the BulSU FABLAB Team, DOST Bulacan, and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Balagtas convened for a strategic collaboration meeting. 🤝

The discussion centered on the development of DOSKARTE, an innovative, functional, smart food cart specifically engineered to elevate the operations of ambulant vendors within the Municipality of Balagtas, Bulacan.

𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Integrating modern design features to optimize daily operations and improve efficiency for local micro-entrepreneurs.

𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬: Prioritizing structural safety and hygiene protocols to protect both the vendors and the consuming public.

𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Modernizing traditional street vending to uplift livelihoods and contribute to the municipality's economic growth.

This project underscores the powerful impact of Local partnerships. By aligning technological expertise from BulSU FABLAB, regulatory and scientific support from DOST Bulacan, and the grassroots vision of LGU Balagtas, we are creating sustainable solutions that directly impact lives.

We are especially proud to highlight that this project was led by students from the College of Professional Teacher Education (CPTEd) of Bulacan State University, demonstrating excellence in both pedagogy and innovation.

We are honored to have assisted the development of “𝑨𝑫𝑫𝑰𝑩𝑶𝑿: 𝑬𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝑲𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒏 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔’ 𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒆-𝑫𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒕 𝑨𝒅𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑺𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒔,” a thesis project that underscores the importance of strengthening foundational numeracy in early childhood education. Through FABLAB’s facilities and technical guidance, the student researchers were able to design and develop an interactive learning tool that promotes hands-on engagement in mathematics.

The study demonstrated that learners who utilized ADDIBOX showed significantly greater improvement in their addition skills compared to traditional teaching methods. This reinforces the value of integrating innovative, technology-supported learning tools in education.

FABLAB remains committed to empowering BulSU students by providing access to fabrication technologies, prototyping support, and collaborative learning spaces that transform ideas into real-world applications.

Last January 27–28, 2026, the FABLAB successfully conducted a hands-on 3D Printing Workshop in partnership with the Association of Integrated Mechatronics Engineering Students (AIMEES) 🤝

From learning the fundamentals of additive manufacturing to hands-on printing, the workshop showcased the power of innovation, teamwork, and student-led initiatives. 👏

👏 Huge thanks to AIMEES, our facilitators, and all enthusiastic participants who made this event a success! Here’s to more collaborations, more skills built, and more ideas brought to life layer by layer.

May thesis or research idea ka ba na pang-solve ng real-world problem, pero wala kang access sa high-end equipment o pondo? Ito ang solusyon!

Ang Alab Collab 2: Siklab Konek ay institutional commitment ng BULSU na tulungan ang mga high-potential student projects na maging ganap na implementable.

⚙️ Siklab (Ignition): Ang Research and Innovation Office (RIO) ang bahala sa pag-assign ng faculty mentors at pag-grant ng access sa specialized university facilities at equipment.

⚙️ Konek (Connection): Kami na ang maglalapit sa inyo sa mga funding partners (DOST, NGOs, Foundations) para masecure ang budget na kailangan n'yo. Itataguyod namin ang inyong gawa —from paper to prototype!

Eligibility: Existing student research, capstone, or design project, post-proposal man o pre-implementation stage.
