🌏🤝 Building Bridges Through Internationalization

On August 3, 2026, the Southern Philippines Agri-Business, Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) successfully conducted a virtual meeting via Zoom with Universitas Flores, Indonesia to explore opportunities for academic cooperation and internationalization.

The meeting provided a meaningful platform to discuss potential areas of collaboration, including academic exchange, student and faculty mobility, research collaboration, cultural exchange, and other internationalization initiatives.

This successful engagement marks another step toward strengthening institutional partnerships and creating greater opportunities for the students, faculty, researchers, and academic community of both institutions.

The month of August 10, 2026 will usher in the ASEAN Month 2026 with the theme " 𝗡𝗔𝗩𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗢𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥". This annual celebration is to showcase the solidarity, diversity, and shared aspirations, as well as achievements of the ASEAN nations in their journey towards a prosperous region.

As part of this meaningful celebration, we are honored to welcome our distinguished resource speakers who will share their knowledge and experiences. 𝗠𝗿. 𝗢𝗸𝘁𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗗𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗝𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘀, Legal Academic from the University of Flores, Indonesia, will discuss "𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻." Joining him is 𝗗𝗿. SPAMAST Explores Future International Collaboration

On July 10, 2026, the Office of the Internationalization and External Linkages (OIEL) of the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) successfully conducted an Academic Coordination Meeting via Zoom with Mr. Oktaviano Dwisaputra Jurinus, a Legal Academic of Universitas Flores, Indonesia specializing in English and Japanese language instruction.

The virtual meeting served as an avenue to discuss the internationalization initiatives of SPAMAST and explore potential areas of collaboration between the institution and Universitas Flores, Indonesia. Discussions centered on establishing meaningful academic partnerships that promote knowledge exchange, intercultural engagement, faculty and student development, language learning opportunities, collaborative research, and other initiatives that advance Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by expanding access to quality learning experiences through international cooperation.

Representing SPAMAST during the meeting was Mr. Rhenmar M. Galvez, Dean of the Institute of Business Management and Governance (IBMG), who reaffirmed the institute's commitment to fostering international academic cooperation and creating opportunities that will enrich the learning experiences of students and faculty members through global engagement.

The coordination meeting was facilitated by the Office of the Internationalization and External Linkages through Dr. Arneda Jean S. Gonzales, Director of OIEL; Ms. Angeline C. Lim, OIEL Coordinator and IBMG Focal Person; and Mr. Olesis Jr. T. Teh, OIEL Staff. Their leadership ensured a productive exchange of ideas and laid the groundwork for future collaborative initiatives anchored on innovation, academic excellence, and international cooperation.

The successful meeting marks an important step toward strengthening SPAMAST's global engagement and expanding its network of international partners. By fostering strategic institutional collaboration and shared academic initiatives, both SPAMAST and the Universitas Flores, Indonesia reaffirm their commitment to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17: Partnerships for the Goals, recognizing that strong international partnerships are essential in promoting sustainable, inclusive, and globally relevant higher education.

SPAMAST OIEL Holds Coordination Meeting to Strengthen Internationalization Initiatives

The Office of Internationalization and External Linkages (OIEL) convened its internationalization implementors, institute deans, OIEL focal persons, and partner offices on July 30, 2026, via Zoom to reaffirm the College’s internationalization targets, discuss mobility program provisions across institutes, and strengthen preparations for upcoming Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) initiatives.

The meeting reinforced SPAMAST’s commitment to advancing global engagement through coordinated planning, stronger collaboration, and the effective implementation of internationalization programs and initiatives.
