𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔 𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗧 𝗖𝗢𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

The Malita South School Heads came together on August 14, 2026, at Lagumit Elementary School for the District Management Committee Meeting, pursuant to Division Memorandum CID-2026-112 of the Schools Division of Davao Occidental.

Anchored on the principles of effective educational governance under RA 9155, the gathering served as a vital avenue for school heads to align priorities, strengthen coordination, and ensure the effective implementation of instructional, academic, co-curricular, and management-related initiatives.

Among the key matters discussed were upcoming sports and academic activities, monitoring of curriculum instruction, preparation for the upcoming Division Management Committee Meeting, and other pressing concerns affecting school operations.

More than a meeting, the ManCom was a convergence of leaders united by one purpose—to turn plans into meaningful action and ensure that every initiative brings us closer to better learning outcomes and stronger schools.

From plans to progress, from coordination to action—Malita South moves forward as one.

𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗹 𝗥. 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 reaffirmed the Department of Education’s commitment to bringing lifelong learning opportunities closer to communities as he graced the 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 (𝗔𝗟𝗦) on 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, in Barangay Ticulon, Malita, Davao Occidental.

Dr. Jandayan joined Barangay Captain Ariel Tongon, Malita South District Public Schools District Supervisor Dr. Silvano M. Camillo Jr., and PYDO Sir Leo Manasan during the opening program, highlighting the collective efforts of education stakeholders in equipping community members with practical skills and opportunities for personal and economic empowerment.

The community-based skills training forms part of ALS’ continuing efforts to provide accessible and relevant learning opportunities for individuals who are unable to fully access formal education. Through skills development, participants are given avenues to enhance their competencies and build more sustainable opportunities for themselves and their families.

Following the program, SDS Jandayan extended his community engagement through visits to the schools serving Barangay Ticulon, personally visiting 𝗨𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, 𝗧𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗼 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗰𝗮𝗼𝗰𝗼 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹.

His school visits provided an opportunity to engage with school heads, teachers, and learners while gaining firsthand insight into the schools’ learning environments, programs, and continuing efforts to deliver quality and inclusive education.

The visit underscored the importance of strong collaboration among 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱, 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 in ensuring that education remains accessible, responsive, and transformative.

For the Malita South District, the visit of SDS Jandayan serves as an inspiration to sustain its commitment to empowering learners and communities through meaningful programs, strong partnerships, and responsive educational leadership.

The Provincial Governor Atty. Franklin P. Bautista has issued Memorandum Order No. 92, s. 2026, dated August 1, 2026, directing the resumption of full face-to-face classes in all public and private elementary and secondary schools across the Province of Davao Occidental.

In addition, the order marks the return to regular in-person learning, reaffirming the Province's commitment to ensuring quality education while prioritizing the safety and well-being of all learners, teaching personnel, and school communities.

𝗜-𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗜 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 | 𝟭𝟰𝗧𝗛 𝗗𝗨𝗛 𝗘 𝗕𝗟𝗔𝗔𝗡: 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀, 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀

Torchlights illuminated the night as Indigenous leaders, local officials, educators, and residents gathered on July 28 to celebrate the 𝟭𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝘂𝗵 𝗘 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆, honoring the enduring heritage, identity, and traditions of the Blaan people.

Carrying the theme, "𝑨𝒏𝒈 𝑻𝒓𝒊𝒃𝒖 𝒔𝒂 𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒐: 𝑴𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒃𝒐-𝒖𝒃𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑻𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒂 𝑮𝒊𝒏𝒐𝒐," the celebration opened with a Torch Parade, where school heads, teachers, local officials, and community members marched in solidarity, symbolizing unity and the shared commitment to preserving Indigenous culture.

The evening's highlight was the 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀' 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, where participating schools showcased Blaan-inspired choreography, traditional attire, and cultural storytelling. Little Baguio Elementary School emerged as champion, followed by Lalon Elementary School as first runner-up, while Bolo-Bolo Integrated School and Fulong Maliona M. San Sr. National High School shared the second runner-up honors. Lenna Elementary School received the consolation award.

The three-day celebration was spearheaded by the Local Government Unit of Barangay Little Baguio, led by Punong Barangay Hon. Ferdinand D. San and Barangay IPMR Bae Bethel Irene Itliong, in partnership with Indigenous leaders, schools, parents, and community stakeholders.

More than a cultural festivity, the event underscored the importance of safeguarding the customs, stories, and traditions that define the Blaan identity. As the torchlights dimmed, the celebration left a lasting message: the heritage of the Blaan people continues to thrive through unity, faith, and the collective commitment of a community determined to preserve its legacy for future generations.

𝗠𝗦𝗗 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 | 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲: 𝗔 𝗚𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗠𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗵𝗮𝘆

The journey to New Mabuhay Elementary School is not an easy one. Tucked away in one of the remotest communities of Malita, every winding road tells a story of perseverance. Yet on July 22, 2026, those long miles became a pathway for kindness as the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Malita District Office turned an ordinary school day into a memorable celebration of generosity. Through a heartfelt gift-giving activity, learners received school supplies, slippers, food, and other treats—simple gifts that carried extraordinary meaning.

The outreach was made possible through the generosity of LTO Malita District Office under the leadership of STRO/OIC Benjamin P. Antonio Jr., MPA, with the dedicated support of Personnel Officer Omar France Camarillo and the rest of the LTO team. Joining the activity were Public Schools District Supervisor Dr. Silvano M. Camillo Jr. and School Head HT-I Johmil A. Relampago, who shared in the joy of distributing the gifts and witnessing the smiles of every learner. Their collective efforts reflected a shared commitment to ensuring that even children in the farthest schools feel remembered, valued, and inspired.

More than the material donations, the activity delivered something far greater—hope. It reminded the entire New Mabuhay Elementary School community that compassion knows no boundaries and that meaningful partnerships can brighten the future of every child. The faculty, parents, and learners extend their heartfelt gratitude to Team LTO Malita for choosing their school as the recipient of this remarkable initiative. Indeed, when generosity travels beyond the last mile, it reaches the hearts that need it most and plants seeds of hope that will flourish for years to come.
