Hand signals in surgery depict a form of non verbal communication among the scrubbed surgical team. Mastery of these signals promote efficiency in the OR.

A reminder! The surgeon should not have to look toward the scrub person when he or she receives an instrument with the exception of scalpels and other sharp objects...
