An Open Letter to the Malay College Community
To our dear students, faculty members, and concerned citizens of Malay,
Warm greetings of unity and hope!
It is with a heavy heart, yet with firm resolve, that we address an ongoing issue affecting the very spirit and integrity of our beloved institution. Over the past weeks, a certain online page, "Himutok," has consistently sought to tarnish the name of our school, spreading negativity, misinformation, and content that aims to divide and demoralize the very community that so many have worked hard to build.
Let us not forget: Malay College stands today because of the countless sacrifices made by educators, parents, local leaders, and citizens who believed in the power of accessible, quality education. These pioneers envisioned a future where the youth of Malay could be educated close to home, molded with values rooted in excellence, service, and honor. Their hard work laid the foundation of a school that will produce not only graduates but also leaders, professionals, and responsible members of our society.
Every chair in our classrooms, every building on our campus, and every diploma to be handed out—they all carry stories of perseverance, hope, and unity. We owe it to them and to ourselves to defend and uplift the institution they helped establish.
To our students:
You are the heart and future of Malay College. Your voice, your actions, and your unity can overpower any effort to discredit the school. We urge you to take a stand—not with hate, but with integrity. Let us respond not with retaliation but with responsibility. Use your platforms to highlight the good that we do. Speak up for the truth, and more importantly, stop giving attention and power to pages that aim to destroy our reputation.
We strongly encourage every student to block and report this page from their social media accounts. By doing so, you are helping protect not just our school’s name but your own future, because this institution was built for you. This college stands as a pillar of hope for the youth of Malay, and its strength lies in your hands.
To our faculty and staff:
Let us remain steadfast and united. Continue to guide our students not only in academics but also in upholding our values and defending what is right.
To those behind this malicious effort:
Know that we are not shaken. We do not stand alone. We are a family strengthened by truth, compassion, and our shared dream for a brighter tomorrow through education.
Let this be our united stand - to protect Malay College, because it is more than a school. It is our shared legacy and our students' future.
In strength, in honor, and in unity, we rise as one.
With hope and sincerity,
Office of Guidance and Career Services Center
