In partnership with Gallery in the Gutter , Women Reply will be holding a screening and discussion on Mga Kuwentong Barbero / Barber’s Tales (2013) which tells the story of Marilou, a woman who reluctantly takes over her husband’s barber after his sudden passing during the Martial Law era.

Using the film as a starting point for discussion, how can we reflect on our lives in our own settings? In claiming ownership of our identity and our womanhood, how do we come to terms with this world where we must navigate between the spheres of our selves, our actions, and what these actions produce?

The event will start off with a short presentation by Donna Miranda of SAKA.
