📢 UMak Institute of Social Work Hosts NASWEI Membership Accreditation Visit

On May 29, 2026, the University of Makati’s Institute of Social Work (ISW) welcomed esteemed accreditors from the National Association of Social Work Education, Inc. (NASWEI): Dr. Hazel Cometa-Lamberte and Dr. Angelito Meneses from the University of the Philippines – Diliman, and Prof. John Carlo Perez from Centro Escolar University – Manila.

The visit, attended by ISW Dean Dr. Sandra Lynn Gatayen, Institute Secretary Prof. Dino Pimentel, faculty member Prof. Jennifer Cueva, and ISW student leaders, is part of UMak ISW’s application for Institutional Membership with NASWEI.

Highlights of the visit included a tour of the University’s facilities, including the Library Learning Commons (LLC), Auditorium, University Performing Arts Theater and classrooms. Discussions focused on enhancing curriculum, research programs, and library resources, as well as exploring future collaborations between NASWEI, UMak ISW, and the creation of Junior Social Work Association of the Philippines – UMak Chapter for academic and student development programs.

The UMak ISW community expressed gratitude for the insightful advice and words of encouragement from the accreditors, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in social work education.

We extend our gratitude to the USMO for taking the time to document our last event of this school year.

Once again, congratulations to all the students who successfully finished this school year. Whether you received an award or not, know that completing this year is already an achievement.

Sa bawat patak ng pawis at oras ng pagtitiyaga, ipinapakita ninyo ang tunay na diwa ng sipag, dangal, at paglilingkod. Sa kabila ng mga hamon, patuloy kayong lumalaban at bumabangon.

Sa araw na ito, higit sa pagkilala, ipinapaalala natin na ang bawat manggagawa ay nararapat pahalagahan, igalang, at ipaglaban ang kanilang mga karapatan.

Muli, taos-pusong pagpupugay sa lahat ng manggagawang Pilipino. Kayo ang lakas at puso ng sambayanang Pilipino.

From the very first whistle, our athletes showed what heart and hustle truly look like 💯💪.

The women’s volleyball team set the tone with a strong opening win against HSU 🏐✨, proving that preparation, trust, and teamwork always deliver.

On the court, the men’s basketball team brought intensity and grit in every play 🏀⚡, keeping the game thrilling and full of fight until the final buzzer ⏱️🔥.

Meanwhile, the men’s volleyball team showcased pure determination in every rally 🏐💥, a reminder that every point is earned through effort and connection. 🤝

Our 𝘉𝘢𝘥𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘯 players showed incredible determination on the court. A special highlight to Ms. Mar Aguero, who secured victories against 𝘊𝘐𝘛𝘌 and 𝘐𝘖𝘈 in the singles match and to Mr. Carlos Trio Santos and Mr. Ken Hendrix Tablang who delivered an impressive performance, winning their men’s doubles match against 𝘐𝘖𝘕. 🏸💪✨

Our 𝘔𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘓𝘦𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 team fought with heart and showed what it means to represent 𝙄𝙎𝙒! 💪 Meanwhile, the 𝙇𝙖𝙧𝙤 𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙖𝙝𝙞 team stole the spotlight with their Agawan Bola and Tug of War games. They demonstrated 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩, 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵, winning twice in the Tug of War by 𝘊𝘏𝘒! 🏅💪
