9. Since then, the Power of Pen which happens every two years has now evolved and developed regional food writing workshops to cater to the growing demands of the food writer’s community. The Power of Pen commenced its first installment last 2009 – a promising food writing workshop that catered to the technicalities of food writing and its arising discourses such as food blogging, the art of restaurant review, food styling and photography, and many others. This successful take off was followed by a series of writing workshops now variably focusing on different trajectories like writing about Philippine cuisine and heritage, food research and recipe writing, and even on how to get your manuscripts published. The Power of Pen strode its glory through six more installments, bringing culinary professionals, food writers, and other enthusiasts, to propel forward their goal through these various discourses. The Power of Pen launched a one of a kind convergence through our gastronomy – one nation separated geographically but united by our burning love for culture and cuisine.
