OFFICIAL UPDATE | DAY 3 – FINAL ROUND CROWNS THE CHAMPIONS
Following the intense Semifinal Round, the competition immediately progressed to the much-awaited Final Round, where the remaining couples took the floor for the last time in their quest for victory.
With only the top six (6) competing cities remaining in each category, the final round brought together the best-performing athletes of the tournament, each determined to secure a place on the podium.
The Finals followed the same flow of events, beginning with Elementary Standard, followed by Secondary Standard, then continuing with Elementary Latin and Secondary Latin categories.
With the medals within reach, dancers gave their all on the floor, unleashing their full energy, passion, and artistry in every step, spin, and movement. The atmosphere inside the venue became even more electrifying as the audience cheered for their respective delegations, witnessing performances that reflected months of preparation, discipline, and dedication.
Every routine in the Final Round showcased not only technical precision and synchronization but also the heart and spirit of true competitors. As the music played and the final dances concluded, the dance floor transformed into a celebration of excellence, sportsmanship, and the vibrant talent of young dancers from across the region.
The Final Round marked the culmination of an unforgettable Day 3 of the NCR Dancesport Palaro 2026, where champions were determined and the passion for dancesport shone at its brightest.

OFFICIAL UPDATE | DAY 3 – SEMIFINAL ROUND INTENSIFIES THE COMPETITION
Following the Quarterfinal Round, the competition advanced to the highly anticipated Semifinal Round, raising the level of intensity on the dance floor.
The round began with Elementary Standard, followed by Secondary Standard, then continued with Elementary Latin and Secondary Latin events.
For the Secondary Division, the ten (10) couples who successfully advanced from the Quarterfinal Round in both Standard and Latin returned to the floor, competing for a spot in the Finals. From these ten couples, only six (6) will move forward to the final round in each category.
Meanwhile, the Elementary Division began their competition directly at the Semifinal stage. A total of eleven (11) couples competed in Elementary Standard, where only six (6) couples will advance to the Finals. In Elementary Latin, fourteen (14) couples took the floor, with seven (7) couples set to qualify for the final round.
As the semifinals unfolded, the atmosphere inside the venue grew even more intense. With the stakes higher and the Finals within reach, athletes delivered stronger and more confident performances, making every step on the dance floor both thrilling and nerve-racking for dancers and spectators alike.

OFFICIAL UPDATE | DAY 3 – SECONDARY DIVISION OPENS WITH QUARTERFINAL ROUND
The Competition Proper for the Secondary Division officially began with the Quarterfinal Round, starting with the Standard category and followed by the Latin events.
A total of fifteen (15) couples took the floor, competing in two heats per category. From this round, ten (10) couples were selected to advance based on the adjudicators’ evaluation.
As the music echoed through the venue, the atmosphere intensified. Standard highlighting elegance and control, while Latin brought dynamic energy and flair. The audience grew more animated with each performance, as the dancers set a powerful and competitive tone for Day 3.

NCR Palaro 2026 Highlights: Day 2 – Unity Dance Rehearsals and Floor Practice
Day 2 of the NCR Palaro 2026 Dancesport event was marked by preparation, collaboration, and a strong sense of unity among athletes, coaches, and technical officials from the different Schools Division Offices (SDOs) across the National Capital Region.
The morning began with a Unity Dance practice, setting a vibrant and cooperative tone for the day. Prior to the session, the Technical Officials held a short meeting to align responsibilities and encourage everyone to give their best in their respective posts, reinforcing professionalism and teamwork throughout the event.
Athletes from the different SDOs lined up in preparation for the program, which formally opened with a prayer led by Ms. Maria Teresa Tabernero. Inspirational opening remarks were delivered by the Assistant Tournament Officials, Ms. Liezl Alomia and Ms. Rosalie I. Dela Cruz, who emphasized discipline, excellence, and unity as guiding principles of the competition.
Important reminders regarding costume compliance were reiterated and finalized to ensure adherence to competition standards. This was followed by an energizing warm-up session led by Tournament Secretary Mr. Nicole Clavel.
During the Unity Dance rehearsal, the chorus part had already been memorized by both athletes and coaches, as they were given time beforehand to familiarize themselves with the choreography. Mr. Clavel focused on refining the steps to achieve clarity, precision, and unison in movement.
For the Elementary category, the practice was facilitated by Ms. Michelle Lobendino, Mr. Gerald Abad, and Mr. Paul John Macanang, while the Secondary category was handled by Mr. Nicole Clavel and Ms. Gretchel M. Garcia. Their guidance ensured that each group demonstrated proper technique, synchronization, and confidence on the dance floor.
After the athletes’ practice, the Technical Officials and coaches rehearsed their respective dance parts. The session concluded with everyone performing the complete Unity Dance together, seamlessly connecting all segments into one cohesive and spirited presentation.
In the afternoon, athletes’ kits and each SDO’s official banners were distributed. A dry run of the program flow for the following day was conducted to ensure smooth transitions and organized ex*****on. Athletes were also given time for floor practice to become fully familiar with the competition venue and dance floor.
To conclude the day, final reminders were delivered to the coaches by Ms. Rosalie I. Dela Cruz. An agreement was set emphasizing proper decorum, professionalism, and respectful conduct throughout the competition. She also reiterated the general flow and mechanics of the competition proper to ensure clarity and alignment among all delegations.
The Technical Officials once again convened to discuss final preparations and key reminders in anticipation of the following day’s events. The team carefully checked the venue requirements and ensured that all logistical and technical needs were in place, affirming that everything was fully set for the official competition.
Day 2 truly reflected the essence of the NCR Palaro: Unity, preparation, and a shared commitment to excellence in Dancesport. As anticipation builds for the main competition, the dedication displayed by everyone involved promises a remarkable showcase of talent, discipline, and sportsmanship.

🏅 NCR Palaro 2026 Highlights: Day 1 – Costume and Routine Invigilation
The much-awaited NCR Palaro 2026 officially commenced on March 3, 2026, at Dr. Alejandro Albert Elementary School, bringing together delegations from the sixteen cities of the National Capital Region for a day marked by organization, unity, and competitive spirit.
The program began promptly at 7:00 AM with the registration of technical officials, coaches, and athletes. This was followed by the distribution of official NCR Palaro identification cards to ensure proper documentation and smooth coordination throughout the event.
Athletes were then instructed to change into their official playing uniforms in preparation for the scheduled costume inspection. While coaches and athletes assembled in their designated areas, the technical officials convened for a brief meeting to review the flow of activities and reaffirm their respective roles and responsibilities.
A short yet meaningful opening program formally launched the day’s events. Delegates proudly lined up, symbolizing solidarity among the NCR divisions. The program opened with a prayer led by Maria Teresa Tabernero of Muntinlupa City, followed by the acknowledgment of athletes, coaches, and technical officials by comperes Alfred M. Tapel and Michelle Lobendino. The technical officials were formally introduced to ensure clear coordination and guidance for all participating delegations, culminating in a photo opportunity.
Venue guidelines were reiterated by Mr. Reggie E. Pascual, emphasizing proper decorum, compliance with dress codes, and the shared responsibility of maintaining cleanliness and order within the competition venue.
To energize the participants, Mr. Nicole Q. Clavel led an engaging warm-up activity joined by technical officials, coaches, and athletes, setting a positive and enthusiastic tone for the competition.
After the opening program, delegations returned to their respective areas as Schools Division Offices (SDOs) were called one by one for the morning uniform inspection.
In the afternoon session, routine invigilation was conducted. Tournament officials carefully reviewed and verified the submitted routine forms, while Standard and Latin dancers performed their routines for assessment and approval.
The day concluded with final reminders for the coaches: Mr. Nestor Berdanas Jr. emphasized costume regulations, Mr. Reggie E. Pascual commended the smooth flow of the day’s activities, and Ms. Liezl S. Alomia provided general reminders and important guidelines for Day 2 of the event.
Day 1 successfully concluded with discipline, coordination, and professionalism, laying a strong foundation for an exciting and well-executed NCR Palaro 2026.
