If I could give advice to my younger self, I would tell him to stay humble and remember that there is always more to learn. Life continuously teaches us. Never stop creating no matter how small the step, make art your escape.

My advice to all aspiring artists would be to draw for yourself and your own enjoyment! Start with what interests you -- draw your favorite character, a scene from a movie, and/or a song you’ve been playing on repeat. You’ll be surprised how much your enthusiasm will help you move forward in your artistic journey!

When I first joined SMLP, I felt like I already belonged. My favorite moment was my first company outing. It was just a month after I joined, and we were playing Jenga. Everyone was so hyped up for me that it didn’t feel like I was a new hire. My workmates were very friendly and I didn’t have a hard time talking to them. Seeing everyone in person for the first time after only seeing them on Zoom was also very memorable for me.

One of my favorite experiences at SMLP has been meeting and playing sports with colleagues from different departments. There’s something special about seeing the faces behind the screens; it really makes me feel like I’m part of a community. These moments deepen our connections way beyond what we can express with emojis. I appreciate how SMLP encourages these activities, as they boost not just our physical and mental health but also our sense of camaraderie.

I believe that creativity blooms from experience. As an artist, I would like to tell my younger self to stay free, be brave, and live loud! Stay free and keep doing what makes you happy. Be brave and believe in your abilities. Live loud and just put yourself out there. Don’t be so afraid of what people might think of you or your work.
