The Executive Doctorate in Leadership (Public Management Track) is an innovative, learner-centred, and practice-oriented program designed to prepare its graduates to assume senior leadership roles, and transform their public organizations and communities in pursuit of a more equitable and empowered society. Graduates are expected to become active agents of community and national transformation. Th
ey are expected to be ready to embody skills and knowledge that translate theory into practice, especially in the field of Public Management. A joint undertaking among the School of Continuing Professional Education (SCOPE) and three administering colleges (CGPP, COE, CBA), the Executive Doctorate program offers three tracks: Public Management – administered by the College of Governance and Public Policy; Education – administered by the College of Education and Business – administered by the College of Business Administration.. The program has five Areas under three general Categories of modules: Common (Methods, Leadership) and Track-Specific (Track, Evaluative Components), and Cognates. Owing to the interdisciplinary nature of the program, all Executive Doctorate offerings share similar courses in the Common category: Methods and Leadership areas. These may be offered by any of the administering colleges jointly or separately, depending on the formation of learning cohorts. Modules under the Track-Specific (Public Management and Evaluative Components) will be handled by experts in the disciplines of Public Administration, Political Science, Management, and other fields. Cognates will be courses offered in the Education and/or Business Tracks.
