MAGALLANES, AGUSAN DEL NORTE โ€” In line with the Department of Education's commitment to fostering disaster resilience and preparedness among Filipino youth, the Magallanes District of DepEd Division of Agusan del Norte successfully conducted the District Elimination for the 2025 National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) Contests last July 11, 2025. Held under the national theme, โ€œKayang Umaksyon ng Mamamayan na Isabuhay ang Kahandaan ng Bawat Isa para Maging Ligtas sa Oras ng Sakuna (KUMIKILOS): Para sa Kahandaan, Kaligtasan at Katatagan,โ€ the event featured four key competitions: Poster Making (Elementary and Secondary), Jingle Making (Secondary) and the Quiz Bee (Secondary).

The Poster Making Contest uniquely combined virtual creativity with physical submission. Held via Google Meet, participants created their artworks live online from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Afterward, their finished posters were physically submitted to the District Office between 12:00 NN and 2:00 PM for final judging.
This approach ensured real-time monitoring while maintaining the integrity of traditional art techniques.

The successful ex*****on of the event was made possible through the leadership of District DRRM Coordinator Mr. Guillermo H. Lague, Jr., along with assigned facilitators, judges, administrative officers, and school DRRM coordinators.

Certificates and awards were prepared and distributed by the Technical Working Group, while school heads and coaches provided essential mentoring and logistical support.

On January 14, 2025, the Magallanes National High School CTP Unit held a Graduation and Turn-Over of Command Ceremony for Cadet Officer Candidate Course (COCC) CL 05-2025 at MNHS Covered Court.

The event was graced by the presence of the Guest of Honor, Nilo R. Verdon, Division CTP Coordinator and, at the same time, the Education Program Supervisor in ALS.

Magallanes National High School hosted the Municipal Integrated Students Activities (MISA) on January 10, 2025, with the theme "Innovate, Illuminate, and Foster 21st Century Skills: Uniting through Creativity, Talents in Journalism, and Skills Exhibition."

The event was honored by the presence of the municipal's Education Committee Chair, James Dela Fuerta, and Curriculum Implementation Division Chief, Dr. Rayfrocina T. Abao, whose inspiring words set the tone for the day. The leadership of Public Schools District Supervisor Gina S. Bagayas, EdD, and the devoted School Heads of Magallanes District drove the event's success.

Special recognition goes to the focal persons who made each event memorable: Jeanette D. Sanchez (Read-A-Thon English), Emiliana G. Lumbuan (Read-A-Thon Filipino), Leodel V.
