| 𝗚𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗱 𝗢𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗮 2026 Historical Background

Ang ugat ng Gawad Oliva ay nagmumula sa dakilang kabutihang-loob ng mag-asawang Ricardo Balane at Oliva Palermo, na noong Oktubre 4, 1962, ay naghandog ng isang bahagi ng kanilang lupain sa pamayanan ng Olongtao Ilaya sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Punong Nayon Jose Briones. Ang kanilang walang pag-iimbot na donasyon ang nagsilbing matibay na pundasyon sa pagkakatatag ng Olongtao Ilaya Elementary School, isang tahanan ng pagkatuto kung saan ang mga pangarap ng mga bata ay maaaring umusbong at lumago.

Ang pagbibigay ng lupa ay higit pa sa isang pisikal na handog—ito ay naging sagisag ng pag-asa, malasakit, at matibay na paninindigan para sa edukasyon. Ipinakita nito ang paniniwala na ang bawat bata ay may karapatang magkaroon ng lugar upang matuto, umunlad, at mangarap ng mas maliwanag na kinabukasan. Sa kanilang kabutihang-loob, sina Ricardo Balane at Oliva Palermo ay naging haligi ng komunidad, nag-iwan ng pamana na patuloy na nagbibigay-inspirasyon sa mga susunod na henerasyon.

Bilang pagkilala sa kanilang pamana, itinatag ng paaralan ang Gawad Oliva, isang programang nagbibigay-parangal sa mga mag-aaral, g**o, kawani, magulang, at mga katuwang na nagpapakita ng kahusayan, serbisyo, at pagkakaisa. Sa pagbibigay ng pangalan ng parangal kay Oliva Palermo, tiniyak ng paaralan na ang kanyang alaala, kasama ng kanyang asawa, ay mananatiling gabay sa pagpapahalaga sa malasakit at dedikasyon.

Kaya’t ang Gawad Oliva ay hindi lamang isang programang parangal—ito ay isang buhay na alaala sa kasaysayan ng Olongtao Ilaya Elementary School, isang paalala na ang paaralan ay nakatindig sa pundasyon ng kabutihang-loob ng mga tagapagtaguyod nito, at isang panawagan sa komunidad na ipagpatuloy ang kanilang pamana ng paglilingkod at inspirasyon.

Today, we gathered as a community to reflect, celebrate, and envision the future of our school.
The State of the School Address (𝑺𝑶𝑺𝑨) was delivered by our School Head, Ma’am Clarissa Morales Pascual, providing a transparent look at our achievements, challenges, and the path ahead. Meanwhile, the 𝑮𝑨𝑾𝑨𝑫 𝑶𝑳𝑰𝑽𝑨 highlighted the shining stars among us—teachers, students, and staff who embody excellence, dedication, and heart.

Today marks a significant milestone as we celebrate the 57th Commencement Exercises, honoring a journey shaped by dedication, resilience, and growth. This moment is not only a recognition of academic achievements, but also a testament to the perseverance, sacrifices, and unwavering determination of our graduates.

Guided by this year’s theme, "Filipino Graduates: Prepared to Lead with Competence and Character," we proudly present individuals who are not only equipped with knowledge and skills, but also grounded in values that will help them lead with integrity and purpose.

Adding inspiration to this memorable occasion, our distinguished commencement speaker, Ma'am Erika Mignonette Origenes Perida-Ramos, shared valuable experiences and life lessons—reminding our graduates that success is not measured solely by achievements, but also by character, perseverance, and the courage to pursue one’s dreams despite challenges.

| WELCOME BACK ATHLETES AND COACHES👏☺️

During the Flag Raising Ceremony, the Olongtao Ilaya Elementary School family proudly welcomed and congratulated the Elementary Volleyball Boys who represented the Quezon Dolphins in the Regional Athletic Association Meet (RAAM) held in Batangas City from March 4–14.

Your teamwork, and determination have truly made our school and community proud. Competing at such a prestigious event is already a remarkable achievement, and you have shown great sportsmanship and courage throughout the games.

The school also extends its sincere appreciation and congratulations to their Coach Sir Sundrex Rosas Cobar and Assistant Coach Ma'am Airen Formaran Abrencillo-Recilla for their dedication, guidance, and unwavering support to the team. Your leadership and commitment helped the players grow not only as athletes but also as disciplined and determined learners.

| Olongtao Ilaya ES Kicks Off National Women’s Month Celebration 2026

On March 6, 2026, Olongtao Ilaya Elementary School successfully launched its Women’s Month Celebration with a meaningful kick-off program participated in by learners and supportive parents.
The program began with an opening prayer, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, and welcome remarks that warmly greeted everyone present.

An inspirational talk was delivered by Ma’am Elizabeth Briones highlighting the importance of recognizing the strength, contributions, and achievements of women in society. Her message encouraged everyone to continue promoting respect, equality, and empowerment for women.

Meanwhile, Sir Jonel Areda - GAD Coordinator officially launched the various activities prepared for the whole month of March, inviting everyone to actively participate in the celebration and support initiatives that honor women and their vital role in the community.

The kick-off program concluded with a lively Zumba session, where learners and teachers joined together in a fun and energetic activity promoting health, unity, and joy.

The successful opening of the celebration reflects the school community’s commitment to recognizing and uplifting women while fostering participation and collaboration among learners, parents, and teachers.
