Student Leaders Take Action for a Safer Abagatanen Integrated School

Abagatanen Integrated School successfully conducted the Student-Led School Watching and Hazard Mapping Activity on August 11, 2026, as part of the school's continuing commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness, promoting risk awareness, and ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all.
The activity began with an orientation facilitated by the School Watching and Hazard Mapping (SWHM) Moderator, who provided the Student-Led Watching and Hazard Mapping Team with clear instructions and procedures on how to identify and address potential hazards within the school premises.
Guided by the School Watching Checklist, student leaders from the SSLG and SELG actively participated in a systematic inspection of the school campus. They carefully examined the school buildings, classrooms, pathways, and surrounding areas and identified potential hazards and risk-prone areas that may pose threats to the safety and well-being of learners and school personnel.
The identified risks and observations were presented to the School Administration for appropriate action and consideration in future Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) planning.
More than simply identifying hazards, the activity provided the student leaders with an opportunity to become active partners in building a culture of safety, preparedness, responsibility , and resilience within the school community.
Through initiatives such as this, Abagatanen Integrated School continues to empower learners to take an active role in creating a safe, disaster- ready and learner- friendly school environment.

LCSC–No One in Need Foundation Brings ‘Lapis at Papel para kay Juan’ Outreach to Abagatanen Integrated School Learners

In a meaningful effort to support children's education and promote Christian service, the Live Christ, Share Christ (LCSC) – No One in Need Foundation, Inc., under the Diocese of Alaminos, conducted its "Lapis at Papel para kay Juan" outreach program in coordination with the Roman Catholic Church of Agno.

The activity gathered pupils, educators, church leaders, and volunteers in a spirit of generosity and compassion. During the program, school supplies and educational kits were distributed to young learners to help prepare them for the school year and encourage them to continue pursuing their education.

The outreach was made possible through the support of Rev. Fr. Francis Ofrancia, Parish Priest, together with PPC President Eva Nival, whose dedication to serving the community helped ensure the success of the activity.

Aside from the distribution of learning materials, the program included an inspiring message that encouraged the children to value education, work hard, and strengthen their faith. Volunteers and organizers emphasized that every child deserves access to basic school supplies and the opportunity to learn and succeed.

The No One in Need Foundation, one of the social mission pillars of the Live Christ, Share Christ (LCSC) movement, continues to provide programs that address the needs of communities through education, formation, health, livelihood, and other charitable initiatives.

The event reflected the true spirit of Christian charity and community cooperation, bringing smiles to the faces of the beneficiaries and reminding everyone that acts of kindness, no matter how simple, can make a lasting difference in the lives of children.

Kapag may bagyo, baha, lindol, matinding init, o iba pang emergency, ang tanong ay hindi na lamang kung "May pasok ba?" Ang mas mahalagang tanong ngayon ay:

"Paano natin maipagpapatuloy ang pagkatuto nang ligtas at angkop sa kasalukuyang sitwasyon?"

Sa ilalim ng DepEd Order No. 14, s. 2026 (Guidelines on Learning Continuity in Emergencies), ipinakilala ang apat na Learning Continuity Levels upang gabayan ang mga paaralan sa paggawa ng tamang desisyon:

🟢 𝗛𝗔𝗬𝗢 – Normal ang sitwasyon at ligtas ang lahat. Nagpapatuloy ang regular na face-to-face learning.

🟡 𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗬 – May banta o disruption, ngunit maaari pa ring ipagpatuloy ang pagkatuto sa pamamagitan ng modified o flexible learning arrangements.

🟠 𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗔 – Mataas ang antas ng panganib o may malaking epekto na sa komunidad. Mas binibigyang-priyoridad ang kapakanan at psychosocial well-being habang nililimitahan ang academic demands.

🔴 𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗢 – Lubhang mapanganib ang sitwasyon at hindi ligtas o hindi posible ang anumang learning delivery. Ang pangunahing prayoridad ay ang kaligtasan at agarang pangangailangan ng mga mag-aaral at kawani.

⚠️ 𝙈𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙡𝙖: Ang pagpili ng Learning Continuity Level ay hindi nakabatay sa Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) o sa wording ng class suspension. Ito ay nakabatay sa aktuwal na kalagayan ng learners, teachers, paaralan, at komunidad, kabilang ang kanilang kaligtasan, accessibility, readiness, at kakayahang magpatuloy sa pagkatuto.

Sa madaling salita, hindi TCWS ang nagdidikta ng HAYO, HINAY, HINGA, o HINTO. Ang batayan ay ang aktuwal na risk assessment at ang kondisyon ng learners, teachers, at schools.

Sa pamamagitan ng tamang assessment at wastong pagpapatupad ng HAYO, HINAY, HINGA, o HINTO, napapanatili natin ang balanse sa pagitan ng kaligtasan at tuloy-tuloy na edukasyon para sa bawat mag-aaral.
