Sir Hilario Romua Jr., a former NELAC Faculty, has spent his fruitful years serving the Lord in the Elementary, High School, and College Departments. In 1982, he responded to the call passed by the late Pr. Petronilo Barayuga to teach at NELA from Santiago Adventist Elementary School, now Seventh-day Adventist Elementary School Santiago.

As a graduate of Bachelor of Science major in History and Religion, he taught the Bible subjects. In addition to his teaching role, he served the school in various positions such as:
- Head, Farm Department
- Boys Dormitory Dean for 5 Consecutive years
- Working Students Head
- Pathfinder and CAT Commandant
- Dearly loved sponsor of JS prom with Ma'am Elmie Villgomez-Lagajino
- NELAC Church Deacon and Elder
- He served as one of the pioneer mentors of NELA Junior College in 1987.

As we honor his memory, the NELAC community extend their deepest condolences and stands in prayerful support with the family of Sir Hilario Romua Jr. during this difficult time. His legacy of faith and service is truly a testament of God's faithfulness and glory.โ€

UPDATE | JHS Holds Youth Development Symposium (Part 2)

The third topic, Love and Courtship, was presented by Dr. Virgilio D. Quimba. He began with a lighthearted reminder that โ€œLove is like bubblegumโ€”when it breaks, it drives you crazy.โ€

Dr. Quimba emphasized that true love starts with how we treat everyone, not just the person we like. Quoting 1 John 4:20 (NKJV), he said, โ€œIf someone says, โ€˜I love God,โ€™ and hates his brother, he is a liar.โ€ He reminded students that their mission now is to develop a character worth loving, to set healthy boundaries, and to chase God more than anyone else.

He added, โ€œGreat things require time and preparation; you are preparing for the future, donโ€™t rush things.โ€ and concluded with, โ€œYour job today is to prepare, not to pursue. Invest in yourself, guard your heart, and trust Godโ€™s timing for His absolute best.โ€

The last topic, Teenage Pregnancy and Premarital S*x: A Biblical and Psychological Perspective, was discussed by Pr. Huxcley Segundo. He reminded students that s*x is sacred within marriage and warned that society often promotes it outside Godโ€™s plan. Citing 1 Corinthians 6:18, he said s*xual immorality brings guilt, confusion, and pain, along with health risks and emotional struggles such as guilt, depression, and anxiety.

He explained that it can also cause social and educational problems like school dropouts, judgment, and isolation. Spiritually, premarital s*x separates people from God, but he assured that God forgives those who truly repent (Psalm 51:10).

Pr. Segundo shared that causes include peer pressure, media influence, lack of guidance, curiosity, low self-worth, and substance use (Proverbs 13:20). He urged students to build their spiritual life, set boundaries, and focus on their future goals, reminding them that true love waitsโ€”purity brings peace.

Romans 12:1โ€“2: โ€œOffer your bodies as living sacrifices. Honor God with your body, mind, and heart.โ€
