HULAGWAY | INSET
On September 11, 2026, sixteen dedicated teachers at Marayag Elementary School in Davao Oriental engaged in a full day of professional growth during their In-Service Training (INSET) program.
Morning Session: Inclusive Education around the core mission of planning and delivering teaching strategies responsive to learners with disabilities, giftedness, and talents. Opening with multimedia presentationsโincluding a sign-language prayer, a patriotic song, and a motivational clipโMrs. Mirasol C. Lorono read the previous session's minutes before handoffs to the session facilitators, Daisy Mae D. Vidad and Analiza W. Sumaya. The discussion addressed who diverse learners are, emphasizing that every child learns differently yet possesses the potential to succeed. Teachers explored differentiated instruction tailored to student readiness, interests, and learning needs, alongside strategies grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL)โfocusing on engagement, representation, and expression to ensure no child is left behind.
Afternoon Session: ICT Integration gathered once more to shift focus toward digital transformation. Facilitated by Marites P. Golo, the session covered using technology purposefully to plan, deliver, support, and assess learning, warning against using technology for technologyโs sake. Discussion centered on five essential pillars: pedagogy (matching digital tools to teaching methods), access (ensuring equity and digital literacy), creation (empowering students to build content rather than consume it), citizenship (promoting online safety and ethics), and evidence (using data reflection to continually refine classroom instruction).
