Sta. Catalina Academy's First Friday Mass for September was a memorable occasion, featuring the commissioning of our teaching and non-teaching staff. The event also included the formal induction of PTA officers, faculty leaders, and student representatives from various clubs and classrooms, setting a hopeful tone for the month ahead. As we embark on this new chapter, let us be inspired by Philippians 4:13: 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.'

Last August 19, our grade 7 students went for confession officiated by the school’s spiritual director and parish priest Rev. Fr. Roberto Collado in preparation for their recollection. The next day, August 20, same students together with the grade 7 of Stella Maris Academy gathered for a day of spiritual reflection led by Brother El Niño Dela Cruz, the RECOLLECTION MASTER assisted by the grade 7 advisers, Ms. Cayecy O. Ledda of SCA and Ms. Danica Sibayan ot SMA, with the guidance of the school’s campus minister Ms. Yehan Mei Bautista. The sessions focused on pausing to reflect on our lives, understanding Christian love, and the importance of forgiveness and gratitude. Students engaged in activities that helped them appreciate their unique qualities, show love to others, and practice saying sorry and thank you. We are thankful to Brother El Nino for guiding our student…

Monday (August 5): Jesus blessed the loaves and fishes
Scripture: Matthew 14:13-21
13 Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a lonely place apart. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns. 14 As he went ashore he saw a great throng; and he had compassion on them, and healed their sick. 15 When it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, "This is a lonely place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves." 16 Jesus said, "They need not go away; you give them something to eat." 17 They said to him, "We have only five loaves here and two fish." 18 And he said, "Bring them here to me." 19 Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass; and taking the five loaves and the two fish he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. 20 And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over. 21 And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
