The CPA journey is more than intelligence. It takes courage to begin, commitment to persevere, and faith in the person you hope to become.

This yearโ€™s ๐‚๐๐€ ๐“๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ข๐š๐ฅ, themed โ€œ๐‘น๐’๐’š๐’‚๐’ ๐‘ท๐’‚๐’๐’…๐’†๐’Ž๐’๐’๐’Š๐’–๐’Ž,โ€ brought together CPAs who once faced the same doubts and struggles many Accountancy students experience today. Through their stories, they shared the lessons that helped them reach the CPA title.

Maโ€™am ๐€๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐š ๐Œ๐ข๐ฃ๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ reminded everyone that being bright is not enough. Earning the CPA title takes courage, while carrying it requires character, purpose, accountability, ethics, and transparency. A CPA is not only a professional, but also a voice and a nation-builder.

๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ค ๐€๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ฅ๐จ ๐€๐ฅ๐œ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐š, ๐‚๐๐€ and ๐๐ž๐ง๐ฃ๐ข๐ž ๐‘๐ž๐ฒ๐ž๐ฌ, ๐‚๐๐€ emphasized the importance of preparation during the undergraduate years. ๐…๐ซ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐š, ๐‚๐๐€ encouraged students to grow, use every learning opportunity, and pray, while ๐‚๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐‚๐ฎ๐ž๐ญ๐จ, ๐‚๐๐€ reminded everyone to stay resourceful and never complacent.

And perhaps that is what this yearโ€™s โ€œ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’Š๐’” ๐‘ฐ๐’” ๐‘ด๐’†โ€is truly about. ๐ŸŽถ Knowing who you are, accepting that you are still growing, and having the courage to become better each day.
As ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ ๐‡๐ž๐š๐ ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐’๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ฐ๐ข๐ง ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ค ๐ƒ๐ž ๐Ž๐ซ๐จ, ๐‚๐๐€ reminded us, success does not always come from choosing what is comfortable. Sometimes, we simply have to keep going when things become complicated.

The CPA journey will challenge us, test us, and make us question ourselves. But while we are still on the journey, let us continue to study, grow, make mistakes, learn, and show up.

Through their experiences, they have shown us that becoming a CPA requires more than intelligence. It takes the courage to challenge yourself, the discipline to prepare early, the strength to keep going, and the willingness to trust yourself and the process. ๐Ÿ’ช As Joshua Robles, CPA, shared, โ€œHindi mo kailangang maging ready araw-araw, ang kailangan mo lang ay magpatuloy.โ€

Our time as undergraduates is not only a time to learn, but also a time to prepare, grow, and build the habits that will carry us toward the board exam. There may be days when the journey feels overwhelming, but as Amariel Perillo, CPA, reminded us, โ€œYou can stop, but you continue the next day.โ€ ๐ŸŒฑ

Ultimately, becoming a CPA begins with a choice. ๐Ÿ’ญ A choice to take our dreams seriously, to face what is in front of us, and to keep moving forward despite the challenges. Because as Jencell Gonzales, CPA, said, โ€œYou will always have the chance and the choice to become a CPA.โ€ โœจ
