Eternal rest grant unto the souls of the departed, O Lord. And may your perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace.

And we also pray for their families and friends, and for the ADZU community.

CEAP expresses its deepest sorrow over the tragic shooting incident at Ateneo de Zamboanga University.

At this painful moment, we ask everyone to respond with sensitivity, compassion, and restraint, remembering that behind every report, photograph, or social media post are students, families, teachers, and a community experiencing profound grief and shock.

We urge the public to refrain from speculation, unverified information, sensationalized commentary, and the unnecessary sharing of images or details that may further wound those affected.

Let our words and actions protect the dignity and privacy of the victims and their families, while allowing authorities and the school community the space toestablish the facts and respond appropriately.

May this tragedy awaken in all of us a deeper commitment to making every school a place of safety, care, vigilance, and peace, where the protection of every child and every member of the school community remains a shared moral responsibility.

Members of the community are invited to a University-wide Town Hall this coming Thursday, 20 August 2026 at 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm, where important updates related to the University’s security services will be shared. It will be conducted online.

During the Town Hall, the following points will be covered:
● the rationale and frequency of the University’s security services bidding process;
● the conduct of the bidding and evaluation processes;
● the decision based on the evaluation of the bids and the identified needs of the University; and
● the transition plans and timelines.

We recognize the importance of keeping the Ateneo community informed about matters that directly affect campus safety and security. The Town Hall will also provide an opportunity to clarify information, explain the changes, and address questions or concerns from members of the community.

To help make the Town Hall accessible to as many members of the community as possible, we kindly ask interested participants to pre-register by clicking this link (the live link is available in Servire Canvas).

We encourage members of the community to join us and be part of the conversation.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation as we work together toward maintaining a safe, secure, and responsive campus environment.

⚠️ Let's all move about carefully, friends. 🚶‍♀️🚶🚶‍♀️‍➡️🚶‍➡️

While the maintenance teams are mopping the wet areas, let's also do our part by being mindful of our movements and of the people around us.

Also, let's be careful with our umbrellas and where we shake them off. ☔️
