Project LAYAG (Linang At Yaman ng kaalaman sa AGbioteknolohiya) is a DOST-funded agricultural biotechnology extension initiative that aims to empower youth, educators, and communities through capacity-building activities, webinars, trainings, and etc.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐋𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐆 (𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐭 𝐘𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐀𝐆𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐡𝐢𝐲𝐚) is an extension initiative of the University of the Philippines Los Baños that aims to strengthen awareness, understanding, and appreciation of agricultural biotechnology among students, educators, and the wider community. Through accessible learning platforms and expert-led discussions, Project LAYAG bridges scientific research and real-world agricultural applications, highlighting the role of biotechnology in food security, sustainability, and national development.
As part of this initiative, the Agricultural Biotechnology Webinar Series brings together researchers and practitioners to share current advances in genomics, functional foods, and crop improvement. This series serves as a venue for meaningful knowledge exchange on how modern biotechnological tools, such as genomics and omics-based approaches, are applied to important Philippine crops and indigenous plant resources.

Ms. Amoranto is a University Researcher III at the University of the Philippines Manila. 🎓 A graduate of UP Los Baños and Dankook University (South Korea), her research focuses on 🦠 probiotics, 🧬 microbial genomics, and 🌱 metagenomics. She is actively involved in studies on antimicrobial resistance, the gut microbiome, and probiotics, contributing to advances in food, health, and biotechnology. 🥛🧀🍶
