The Center for People Empowerment in Governance (CenPEG) is looking for participants in the research study 'Optics Over Outcomes: Performative Youth Representation and the Crisis of Substantive Representation in Philippine Youth Governance.’ The research aims to study how Sangguniang Kabataan councils and Katipunan ng Kabataan meetings within the National Capital Region and provide important information for the revision of existing laws regarding youth representation in the Philippines, effectively making both legislators and the youth the primary target audiences for this paper.

Following the announcement of a nationwide transport strike on 14-15 September 2026, all faculty members are encouraged to extend consideration to students who may be affected.

The University of the Philippines Los Baños bolstered its student support initiatives with the formal signing of the Deed of Donation for the 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗠. 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 on 03 September 2026, at the Executive Conference Room.

The ceremony was attended by donor Jonathan M. Sterling and Project Manager Myrna Veracio. Representing the university administration were Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr., Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Janette H. Malata-Silva, and Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Marcelina C. Miranda, alongside Office of Scholarships and Grants (OSG) Director Dr. Ariel L. Babierra and OSG staff.

UPLB officials expressed their gratitude to Mr. Sterling for partnering with the university to advance educational equity. Designed to eliminate financial barriers, the grant will support 89 qualified students in completing their degrees and pursuing academic excellence. The OSG, under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, will manage the selection process and grant administration beginning the First Semester of Academic Year 2026–2027.

UPLB International Students with a 9(f) student visa are reminded to process their visa extension 2 months before expiration.

Here are a few reminders for the 9(f) student visa extension:

🟢𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 (𝗔𝗥𝗣𝗦)
All 9(F) Student Visa holders are required to undergo the 𝗼𝗻𝗲-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 (𝗔𝗥𝗣𝗦) during the processing of their student visa conversion or before the student visa extension application for current and active international students to avoid delays. International students are to report to the Bureau of Immigration Student Visa Section for photo capture and biometrics.

Report to ISR 2 months before the visa expiration for document assessment.
