You Are a Bubble
Why is it that you’re often poison in my memory?
Seeing you in sadness only deepens the pain in me.
There’s a past that once arrived — will tomorrow ever come?
Was it my fault, or is it just how things become?
Like you, I’m drowning too — in wishes unfulfilled,
Dreams of yesterday that left, hearts quietly stilled.
Should I just wait for tomorrow to reach out again,
Like your promise fading slowly in my blurring vision then?
When the wind carried you away, I braced myself with care,
Hoping somehow I could catch you, if you returned from thin air.
But as the light came clearer, I saw what you really were —
Just a bubble — floating freely, giving nothing in return.
