SDO Lipa City Joins the Regionwide Celebration of the 33rd National Children’s Month 2025

The Schools Division Office of Lipa City, proudly joined the Regionwide Celebration of the 33rd National Children’s Month 2025 held today at General Mariano Alvarez Technical High School, General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite. The event brought together the schools division offices' SDSs, ASDSs, SGOD Chiefs, Permanent Division LRP Focals, LRP COS (AS II), and learners from SDO Cavite Province to strengthen the collective call to safeguard every child’s right to safety, care, and participation.

Representing the division were Dr. Felizardo O. Bolaños, CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent, and Ms. Jem Irise R. Pastrana, designated Division Learner Rights and Protection Focal Person.

Anchored on the theme “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bawat Batang Mag-aaral, Ipaglaban!”, the celebration highlighted DepEd’s continued commitment to uphold children’s welfare, amplify their voices, and foster a safe learning environment for all.

In her welcome message, Dr. Rosemarie D. Torres, CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent of Cavite Province, underscored the vital role of educators and communities in nurturing children’s potential. “Every child is a potential waiting to be nurtured. Learners must feel that they are valued, safe, and inspired to make themselves better,” she said. She further emphasized the spirit of collaboration, calling on all stakeholders to “join hands and make a difference in the lives of the children.”

Meanwhile, Assistant Secretary for Operations Georgina Ann H. Yang encouraged the field to adopt a wholistic approach to learner support, addressing key concerns such as mental health, anti-bullying, and child protection in both physical and online spaces. She reminded the audience that “with every right comes responsibility,” particularly in fostering positive online behavior and mutual respect among learners. “Enable every child to live the life that he or she wishes to have,” Asec. Yang emphasized, as she urged the DepEd community to stand as protectors and advocates of children’s welfare across all settings — in schools, communities, and homes.

The program also featured the awarding of plaques of recognition to 24 schools division offices, intermission numbers from talented learners, and the afternoon “Take It Down” (TID) School Caravan, co-hosted by DepEd Central Office and the Stairway Foundation.

The celebration served as a powerful reminder that the heart of education lies in protecting and uplifting the nation’s most precious treasures — its children. As echoed by all speakers, a nurturing environment built on compassion, collaboration, and hope ensures that every child can truly become a Child of Hope and a Voice of Tomorrow.
