Three Years of Transformative Leadership. Three Years of Inspiring Excellence.
Leadership is not measured by the years one serves, but by the lives transformed, the dreams realized, and the legacy built along the way.
Today, the Pangasinan National High School Mathematics Family proudly celebrates the 3rd Anniversary of our School Principal IV, Dr. Mariela N. Calimaโa visionary leader whose unwavering commitment to quality education has empowered teachers, inspired learners, and strengthened our pursuit of excellence.
For the past three years, your leadership has provided the direction, encouragement, and support that enabled the Mathematics Department to transform innovative ideas into sustainable programs that address learners' needs and improve mathematics education.
Under your administration, the Mathematics Department successfully launched and sustained impactful initiatives that continue to make a difference:
๐ School Year 2023โ2024
Project T.R.A.I.N. (Teach and Remediate: Adopt an Individual Non-Numerate) helped struggling learners develop essential numeracy skills through individualized remediation and teacher mentoring, ensuring that every learner had the opportunity to build a strong mathematical foundation.
Project P.R.I.S.M. (Peer-to-peer Remedial Instruction in Secondary Mathematics) promoted collaborative learning by empowering high-performing learners to become peer tutors, strengthening both academic achievement and leadership among students.
๐ School Year 2024โ2025
Project I.S.A.L.B.A. (Intensifying Skills and Aptitude by Learning the Basics in Arithmetic) reinforced learners' mastery of fundamental arithmetic concepts, equipping them with the confidence and skills necessary for higher-level mathematical learning.
๐ School Year 2025โ2026
Brigada Pagbilang 2025 (Math Mastery: Bridging Knowledge Gaps and Boosting Confidence) prepared learners for the academic year by addressing learning gaps through diagnostic assessments, bridging activities, and intensive mathematics review.
Project M.A.K.S.I.L. (Mastering Arithmetic and Key Skills through Interactive Learning) transformed mathematics classrooms into engaging learning environments through interactive activities that nurtured critical thinking, participation, and mathematical confidence.
๐ School Years 2025โ2027
Project MathFlix: A Cinematic Journey of Mathematics Lessons through Videos harnessed the power of educational videos to make mathematics lessons more engaging, accessible, and available anytime, supporting both classroom instruction and independent learning.
Project K.H.A.N. (Knowledge Hub for Accessible Nurturing) integrated the Khan Academy platform into Mathematics and Science instruction, promoting personalized learning, mastery-based practice, immediate feedback, and data-driven instruction that helped learners improve their academic performance.
๐ School Year 2026โ2027
As one of the participating schools in the ADB Pathfinder Program โ Year 2, Pangasinan National High School continued to implement innovative, evidence-based strategies that strengthen foundational mathematics, enhance teacher capacity, and improve learner achievement through nationally supported interventions.
The department also launched Project B.A.W.I. (Building Arithmetic through Worthwhile Interventions), a sustainable mathematics intervention program that addresses persistent learning gaps through structured remediation, differentiated instruction, and meaningful learning experiences that build lasting arithmetic proficiency.
Beyond these remarkable initiatives, your leadership has brought significant milestones that continue to shape the future of Pangasinan National High School.
๐
Learners proudly represented the school and earned medals in Mathematics competitions from the District, Division, Regional, and National levels.
๐ PNHS actively participated in PISA 2024, embracing international standards and promoting globally competitive learners.
๐ PISA-like assessments were integrated into quarterly examinations to strengthen higher-order thinking, mathematical reasoning, and real-life problem-solving skills.
๐ป Technology became an integral part of teaching and assessment through the use of online examination platforms, while EvalBee enabled teachers to conduct faster checking, generate immediate item analyses, and make timely, data-driven instructional decisions.
๐ The school strengthened its culture of evidence-based instruction through regular diagnostic assessments, learner monitoring, intervention programs, and strategic academic planning.
๐ฉโ๐ซ Teachers were empowered through continuous professional development, Learning Action Cell (LAC) sessions, mentoring, and instructional coaching that fostered innovation and excellence in teaching.
๐ค Strong partnerships with parents, alumni, local government units, community stakeholders, private organizations, and student leaders further enriched school programs and created meaningful opportunities for learners.
These achievements are more than accomplishmentsโthey are lasting reminders of what visionary leadership, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence can accomplish.
To our beloved School Principal, Dr. Mariela N. Calima, thank you for believing in the potential of every teacher and every learner. Thank you for trusting the Mathematics Department to dream bigger, innovate boldly, and create programs that truly make a difference. Your confidence in us has inspired us to serve with greater passion, purpose, and dedication.
