Before we get buried under 3rd-year requirements, reports, lesson plans, quizzes, exams, and the classic โ€œguys, may assignment ba?โ€ ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿงชโ€”let's take a moment to celebrate the people who make our class a little more colorful and a lot more fun.

To our August celebrants, Starla Cassidy, Jomalyn, Ma. Jezebel, and Ralph Florenzโ€”happy birthday! ๐Ÿฅณ๐ŸŽ€

May this new chapter bring you more blessings, genuine happiness, unforgettable memories, and enough strength to survive everything this school year throws at us. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’— May your grades multiply, your stress decrease, your allowance magically regenerate, and your deadlines somehow become manageable. ๐Ÿงฌโœจ

As we continue our journey as 3rd-year BSE Science students, here's to more classroom laughs, random chikahan, group-work chaos, cramming sessions, shared notes, and moments we'll eventually look back on and say, โ€œGrabe, kinaya pala natin.โ€ ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿซถ

For today, though, no academic stress muna. Birthday mode ON! ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‰

To our August babies, keep shining, keep growing, and keep being wonderfully yourselves. ๐ŸŒทโœจ

Ten (10) Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSE) major in Science students from Pangasinan State University - Lingayen Campus successfully presented their course research outputs during the International Conference on Biology Education (ICoBE) 2026, organized by Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, Indonesia, and conducted in a hybrid format.

The student researchers presented the following studies:

1. Genetics Literacy and Awareness of Environmental Influences on Gene Expression Among First-Year BSE Science Students โ€“ Ms. Jarish M. Natino

2. Adaptive Phenotypic Traits of Mahogany and Talisay Trees: A Quantitative Basis for Urban Tree Selection in Lingayen Capitol Grounds โ€“ Ms. Almarie Grace C. Quibual

3. Floristic Diversity of W**d Populations in PSU-Lingayen: A Comparative Database of Monocot and Dicot Morphological Traits โ€“ Ms. Starla Cassidy Jovenal

4. Conceptual Misconceptions in Fundamental Genetics Among First-Year BSE Science Students โ€“ Mr. Norman Dick Soriano

5. Comparative Analysis of Ant Species in Coastal Areas of Lingayen and Inland Areas of Bugallon, Pangasinan โ€“ Mr. Peter Abelard R. Sorio

6. Marine Gastropod Diversity and Genetic Composition in Pangascasan, Sual, Pangasinan โ€“ Mr. Jhon Rene R. Mendez

7. Shape of Selection: A Comparative Study of Beak Morphology in Native and Commercial Chickens โ€“ Mr. Allen Morante

9. Unpeeling the Truth: A Quantitative Analysis of Phenotypic Traits Across Mango Varieties in Lingayen, Pangasinan โ€“ Ms. Jennifer M. Andalis

10. Factors Influencing the Growth Variation of Milkfish (Chanos chanos) Among Farms with Similar Culture Duration โ€“ Mr. Adrian A. Viray

These presentations were developed as course outputs in Science 109: Genetics during the Second Semester of Academic Year 2025โ€“2026 and served as project-based learning outputs under the supervision of Dr. Jun S. Camara, course instructor. The studies reflect the studentsโ€™ application of fundamental concepts in genetics, biodiversity, ecology, and biological research to address local and context-based scientific questions.
The participation of the students in an international academic conference demonstrates the continuing commitment of the Science Education Department to strengthening research competence, scientific communication, and global academic engagement among future science educators.

Through the support and leadership of Dr. Frienzky B. Macayana, Chairperson of the Science Education Department, Dr. Randy F. Soriano, Dean of the College of Teacher Education, Dr. Amela T. Cayabyab, Dean of the Office of the Student and Alumni Affairs, and Dr. Marie Claire B. Briones, Campus Executive Director of PSU Lingayen Campus, the University's science major students continue to showcase their research capabilities not only in local academic venues but also on the international stage.

The achievement further highlights Pangasinan State University's commitment to fostering a culture of research, innovation, and academic excellence among its students, preparing them to become future educators, researchers, and contributors to the advancement of science education.
