The Department of Teacher Education (DTE) of Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) held the 6th Lampara Investiture and Pinning Ceremony, marking another milestone in the professional preparation of its pre-service teachers.
The ceremony brought together student-teachers, parents, faculty members, administrators, school officials, and guests for a program highlighting the responsibilities and commitment that come with entering the teaching profession.
School principals from the Limay and Orion Districts delivered messages to the pre-service teachers, sharing insights and encouragement as they prepare to undertake their field experiences in cooperating schools.
Ms. Jeolfa G. Reyes, Public School District Supervisor of the Limay District, addressed the student-teachers through a series of practical lessons drawn from the realities and responsibilities of the teaching profession.
In her message, Reyes shared four lessons for the pre-service teachers to carry with them as they begin their field experiences. The first, โBe Careful What You Get Used To,โ reminded them to be mindful of the habits, practices, and behaviors they develop, as these can eventually shape their professional identity. The second lesson, โFollowing Guidelines Will See You Through,โ highlighted the importance of observing established rules, procedures, and professional standards in carrying out their responsibilities.
For the third lesson, โBe Brave to Say โI Donโt Know,โโ Reyes encouraged the student-teachers to acknowledge when they do not have the answers and to view such moments as opportunities to learn, seek guidance, and improve. Her fourth lesson, โGuard Your Heart Because You Never Know Who You Are Inspiring,โ reminded the future teachers to remain mindful of their words, actions, and interactions, as their conduct may leave a lasting influence on the students and people they encounter.
Although unable to attend the ceremony, Hon. Richie Jason D. David, Mayor of Limay, conveyed his greetings and message of support to the pre-service teachers through the event.
LPC President Dr. Elmer B. De Leon also delivered a message to the student-teachers, reflecting on the earlier years of the institution when the Pinning and Investiture Ceremony had not yet been established. He recalled how the activity has become part of the continuing development of the Department of Teacher Education and encouraged the pre-service teachers to value the opportunity and responsibility represented by the ceremony.
The event culminated in the imposition of pins and investiture, symbolizing the pre-service teachersโ commitment to their chosen profession and their continuing preparation for the field of education.
The 6th Lampara Pinning and Investiture Ceremony underscored the Department of Teacher Educationโs continuing efforts to prepare its students for the responsibilities of the teaching profession, while reminding future educators that their journey extends beyond academic preparation and into the values, conduct, and influence they bring to the classroom.
