Eastern Visayas State University kicked off its University Entrance Examination (UEE) for Academic Year 2025-2026 yesterday, January 18, accommodating 1,600 aspiring students on its first day of testing at the main campus.
The examination, which will run until March 2, 2025, is a key component of EVSU's College Admission Application (CAA) process that began last December 16, 2024. According to Dr. Cherie Guy B. Giray, head of the Guidance Services Office, the university has already received more than 11,000 applications across all campuses, suggesting a potential surge beyond last year's 19,000 applicants.
"We are conducting the examinations every Saturday and Sunday, with four batches daily โ two in the morning and two in the afternoon. Each batch accommodates 400 examinees," Dr. Giray explained.
The university evaluates applicants based on three major criteria: the UEE score (60%), General Weighted Average (30%), and Interview/Skills Test (10%).
For prospective students, the university has outlined the following examination schedules for its satellite campuses:
Tanauan Campus: morning of January 21-23, 28, 30; February 4-6, 11-13, 19-20, 26-27 and the whole day of January 31; February 14, 21, and 28
Burauen Campus: February 18-19
Dulag Campus: February 20-21
Carigara Campus: February 27-28
Ormoc City Campus: January 23-24, 30-31; February 24-28
All applicants will receive their specific UEE schedule, important reminders, and guidelines through their registered email addresses. The university strongly advises applicants to regularly check their emails for updates.
For those experiencing technical difficulties with their applications, such as incorrect email addresses, EVSU has provided a solution through its Admission Portal. Applicants can access their profiles using their application number as username and birthdate as the password to make necessary corrections.
The EVSU Guidance Office remains open to assist applicants who may have forgotten their application numbers or need help with any admission-related concerns.
The College Admission Application period will continue until February 14, 2025. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline.
