Ms. Angel Nehrien Salado, a law student practitioner, returned to her alma mater, Bagong Silang Elementary School, as the invited resource speaker for a Gender and Development Seminar attended by its faculty last December 19, 2025 at the Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort.

In a heartfelt full-circle moment, she empowered her former teachers with insights on Republic Act No. 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.

In support of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women, observed annually from November 25 to December 12 pursuant to Proclamation No. 1172 s. 2006, SNMC Law actively took part in the advocacy through a legal education seminar held on December 13, 2025 at the Brgy Hall of Brgy. Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City.

Mr. Danilo Tepait discussed Republic Act No. 9262 or the Anti-VAWC Law, emphasizing the protection of women and children against all forms of abuse.

Mr. Francis Louie I. Cabañog presented Republic Act No. 6713 or Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

Mr. Angelbert Louis Lapingcao explained the Katarungang Pambarangay Law (Presidential Decree No. 1508, now Chapter VII of Republic Act No. 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991).

The activity was attended by Lupon Members, Barangay Tanod, and VAWC Desk Officers, strengthening community awareness and legal empowerment.

The speakers are Law Student Practitioners of SNMC Law, committed to advancing legal education and advocacy in the community.

SNMC Law received a Certificate of Recognition and Appreciation for its most valuable support to the Mactan Island Lawyers’ League (MILL) Inc. as a partner in the Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP), and for its contribution to the revival of the Lapu-Lapu City Hall of Justice Lawyers’ Lounge through the leadership of its President, Madame Sunshine B. Lim.

The recognition was conferred on December 13, 2025 during the MILL’s Honoring and Induction of New Members. On behalf of President Sunshine B. Lim, the recognition was accepted by Atty. Gerime Mae A. Basalo, CLEP Director of SNMC Law, together with Mr. Ryan Mark Peñalosa and Ms. Arlene Ravina.

The event was graced by Judge Nelson Leyco, Executive Judge of the Lapu Lapu City Regional Trial Court, who served as the keynote speaker.

SNMC Law extends its sincere gratitude to MILL President Atty. Maricar Endico Ruñez for her steadfast leadership and for the organization’s continued and unwavering support of SNMC Law’s programs.
