Day 2 | Division Orientation on IP Education

Day two was a powerful step forward for our School Heads and Teachers. Today’s program featured a hands-on Workshop, dynamic presentation of outputs, and constructive critiquing that sharpened our lesson designs and classroom strategies. We were honored to receive insightful inputs from Mr. Nick Bringas, SDO Ilocos Sur, and Dr. Mario Pineda, EPS -SDO La Union, whose expertise helped deepen our understanding of culturally responsive IP Education.

Thank you to all participants for your energy, thoughtful feedback, and commitment to making IP Education meaningful and relevant for our learners. Let’s carry today’s momentum into our schools and continue collaborating across divisions.

Day One of the Division Orientation for School Heads and Teachers on Indigenous Peoples (IP) Education was a meaningful and energizing start to our program!

We were honored to have Mr. Rex T. Mahor and Mr. Gibryl Brin Cacayorin of Uguis Integrated School lead the sessions, sharing practical strategies, culturally responsive teaching approaches, and real-life classroom examples that brought IP Education to life. Highlights included an engaging overview of IPEd Policies, curriculum integration, contextualization, localization , and indigenization with interactive group activities that modeled inclusive lesson planning, and thoughtful Q&A that sparked rich discussion among participants.

Thank you to our speakers for their expertise and to all school heads and teachers for your active participation and commitment to culturally relevant education. Your insights and collaboration today set a strong foundation for the rest of the orientation.

Strengthening Indigenous Peoples Education (IPEd) in our schools!

February 26, 2026 | Dr. Dennis C. Ramirez, Education Program Supervisor and IPEd Focal Person of SDOIN, conducted a comprehensive monitoring of IPEd implementation at Barangobong Elementary School and Uguis Integrated School l, both in Nueva Era District.

The visit included classroom observations focusing on the meaningful integration of IPEd into the teaching-learning process, ensuring that indigenous knowledge systems and practices are embedded across learning areas. Dr. Ramirez also reviewed the various programs and initiatives being carried out by the schools to uphold and advance the goals of IPEd in consonance with the mandate of the Department of Education.

This initiative highlights our shared commitment to delivering culturally responsive, inclusive, and quality education that honors and preserves the rich heritage of our Indigenous communities deeply anchored to the SDOIN’s TourEd which aims in fostering an education that is worth to be INheritEd.

Together, we continue to move forward in empowering learners and strengthening IPED implementation in every classroom.
