From Debut to Distinction: DBIS First-Timer Clinches Rank 6 at DSPC

Stepping into the 2026 Iloilo Division Secondary Schools Press Conference (DSPC) held at Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School for the very first time, Jazlaine Faye T. Libuna of Daanbanwa Integrated School defied expectations by clinching Rank 6 in Editorial Writing Filipino category.

Libuna is now set to represent the school in the Regional Schools Press Conference.

This achievement was not only a personal breakthrough but also a triumphant moment for DBIS, which rarely earns a spot in journalism contests.

The other budding journalists who also deserve recognition for representing the school are Mic Clear Rapista (Feature Writing Filipino) and Angeline Loreno ( News Writing English).

DBIS’ Junior-Senior Prom: A Day of Glamour and Celebration

The Junior- Senior Prom 2025, held on February 14 at Daanbanwa Barangay Gym, was not only a day filled with glamour and excitement, but also a celebration of the students’ achievements during this school year. It was a blissful event for the Grade 10 and 9 students as they flaunted their dazzling attire and showcased their skills as a part of culminating activity in MAPEH and TLE.

The event kicked off with the grand entrance of the seniors and juniors as they lighted their candles to signify the continuity of leadership and camaraderie. They were warmly welcomed by Dr. Mary Irene L. Armada, Principal II of DBIS , who applauded their remarkable milestones. She also emphasized the significance of celebrating this event as it hones the social skills and fosters closer ties among the students.

The reading of Class Prophecy was one of the touching segments of the event which made the students reminisce their memories in DBIS and reflect on their future goals and dreams. The juniors were also elated to carry on the legacy of the seniors in the declaration of Batch Will and Testament. They were enthusiastic in showing their talents and skills.

One of the highlights of the day was the Cotillion de Honor. With an enthralling music, the students danced gracefully and happily with their partners.

An on-the-spot search for Prom King and Queen
filled the venue with screams and excitement as the chosen participants took the floor and the stage with oozing confidence and charm. They proudly represented their classes and were supported by the ear-piercing cheers of their classmates.

The most anticipated moment was the awarding ceremony where the students who stood out were given major and minor awards in various categories.

A touch of humor was also added to the program by giving recognition to the rest of the students such as the Utility, Silent Mode, MedTik, ML, High Tide- Low Tide, and other humurous awards which brought laughter to everyone present in the event.

Overall, the Junior-Senior Prom 2025 was definitely an unforgettable experience to the seniors and juniors . It was indeed a day filled with glamour and a celebration of their friendship as well as their achievements as the pride of DBIS.
