The Mameltac Elementary School (MES) 5x5 Basketball Team capped off an exciting season with a dominant win against San Fernando North Central School, winning by a wide margin. Their game against Lingsat Integrated School, however, was a nail-biter โ€” a heartbreaking 37-36 finish that showed just how far this team has grown in grit and determination.

Despite the tight loss, the season didn't end without something to celebrate: two of our very own players, ๐‰๐จ๐ก๐ง ๐—๐ฒ๐ซ๐ข๐œ ๐’๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฆ๐š๐ง ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‘๐š๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ง ๐€๐ง๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฐ ๐€๐›๐š๐ ๐š, have been drafted to join the District Team representing us at the upcoming City Meet!

Because of their help, the young athletes did not have to worry about how they would get to the venue and back. They were able to focus on their game instead of the trip.

The school and the coaches are truly grateful for this support โ€” not just to the barangay captains, but to every barangay official, driver, and staff member who took part in making the transportation possible. Their teamwork behind the scenes made a big difference for the students.

The Mameltac Elementary School Girls Volleyball Team played against Lingsat Integrated School today in the District III Meet.

Mameltac won the first set easily, beating Lingsat by a wide margin. But Lingsat came back strong in the second set and won it. Lingsat also won the third set, giving them the match, 2 sets to 1.

Even though Mameltac lost, the girls played with a lot of eagerness and determination throughout the game. They kept fighting until the end and did not give up, even after losing the momentum they had in the first set.

The team is coached by Ms. Evelyn Gaon and Mr. Jan Ray Pangayan.

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, LA UNION โ€” Sept. 19, 2026 โ€” Young chess players from Mameltac Elementary School demonstrated sharp focus and smart tactics at the District III Meet held today at Lingsat Integrated School.

Guided by coaches Ms. Hexiel Meana F. Rivera and Ms. Flordeliza Estigoy, the school's players secured top finishes across both divisions.

In the Boys Category, Denzel earned a 4th-place finish, while Nathan took 7th place. Frank also delivered an outstanding performance on the board.

In the Girls Category, Leejan finished in 6th place, followed closely by Athena in 7th place and Yuri in 9th place.

The school community celebrated the students and their coaches for their hard work and solid representation of Mameltac Elementary School at the event.

This accomplishment showcases the talent, discipline, and dedication of its young performers.

Representing the school were KZ Ganaden, Ziah Duculan, Xiamira Rhaine Nisperos, and Jumar Jr. Preposi, Aldrin Carino, and Marc Jordan Lagasca. The team was coached by Ms. Castel Alea A. Ornido Ms. Juliet M. Marquez and accompanied by Ms. Elaine L. Nisperos.

The achievement reflects the learnersโ€™ hard work and commitment to promoting and preserving Filipino culture through traditional dance.
