Having a role play area/set up brings a lot of surprises! We set this up as an end of the week treat for our younglings. It's an open ended activity for them to explore, learn and play... Here's what they came up with in this simple set up:
1. Use chopsticks(fine motor skills development to help them improve their handwriting)
2. Set up additional structure(the "door" and "statue" as seen on photo #4) creative and logical thinking
3. Trading with 'money(maths)
4. Making do with the materials given (the pine cones became the beef for the their beef curry dish): resourcefulness
Etc etc etc etc

This is what we do at Prism tutorials, we consolidate learning in interesting activities 🤟 coz learning doesn't have to be a chore!

Push pin activities are actually great for young learners, they'll learn how to assess danger and,improve their hand/finger muscles and control and also keeps their focus. As an added bonus, if you give them the right activity, they'll surely enjoy it.

Before and after decorating their gingerbread men. Just a simple set up, but the learning they can achieve thru it is quite amazing. They can learn about, sizes, manipulate materials to 'create' masterpieces, share the available resources and communicate well with their peers. That's what we do here at Prism tutorials, we maximize learning even in the simplest set ups 🤟 Cause fancy does not always mean more efficient/effective.

When your, number activity becomes a 'hitting targets' activity. Sometimes our planned activity fails..sometimes it evolves to something even more fun 😂👏. This is why it is is important for educators and practitioners to be flexible with their activities, the important thing is to hit your targets 🤟 Goals achieved 👏👏👏

Just a simple craft activity yet it supports a child's fine-motor skills development, hand-eye coordination, and safety awareness. .

Don't draw on the wall!! Yes perhaps we shouldn't, but for children, writing, drawing or making marks on upright surfaces naturally positions their wrists, builds essential upper-body strength, and improves their hand-eye coordination. It also gives them the opportunity to be creative so here at Prism tutorials, instead of hindering their learning, we find ways to scaffold it.

Sequencing builds the foundation for number sense, logical thinking, and problem solving. This helps a child understand the concept of maths and build skills that can better aid them in learning basic arithmetics. 🤟
