12. Latest and duly filed Statement of Assets Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) (if Government Employee)

Information Drive: Sino at ano nga ba ang BJMP? (Part 1)

Ang mga kinatawan ng BJMP o Bureau of Jail Management and Penology ay akmang tawaging JAIL OFFICERS, sila ay hindi jail guard o prison guard. Maituturing ba silang mga pulis? Ang katunayan ang BJMP ay katulad ng PNP o Philippine National Police na parehong nagmula sa PC/INP (Philippine Constabulary / Integrated National Police) Isa sa mga sangay o departamento ng kapulisan ang Jail Unit na ngayon ay BJMP na kung tawagin. Dahil sa lumalaking pupolasyon ng mga kulungan nagpasya ang gobyerno na ihiwalay na sa kapulisan ang pagmaneubra sa mga kulungan sa pamamagitan ng RA 6975. Ano nga ba ang tungkulin ng BJMP? Sila ay inatasan ng batas para sa seguridad ng kumunidad sa pamamagitan ng pananatili ng kapayapaan ,kaligtasan at pagreporma ng mga taong nalihis ng landas. Ang mga JAIL OFFICER ang isa sa mga unipormadong kawani ng gobyerno na hindi kilala ng lipunan, ngunit may malaking bahagi
sa kapayapaan at kaayusan na tinatamasa ng mga mamamayan. Delikado rin ba ang kanilang trabaho? Kayo na ang humusga. Araw araw nilang kasama ang mga linilitis at nasentensyahan na, na mga mamamatay tao,mga magnanakaw, mga ra**st, mga terorista, mga snatcher, mga sugarol, mga drug addict at mga drug lords. Ang mga taong ito ay di mga ordinaryong mamamayan na nalihis ng landas - ang ilan sakanila ay mga dating pulis, mga dating sundalo, ex special forces at ex- saf troopers na dalubhasa sa pagamit ng anumang uri ng sandata. Ngayon delikado ba ang trabaho ng BJMP? Kayo na ang sumagot. Dahil sa pagsunod sa karapatang pang tao - tanging lakas ng loob at tapang lang ang bitbit ng JAIL OFFICERS tuwing sila ay papasok sa bawat lungga ng mga taong nabangit sa itaas para siguraduhing ligtas ka at sila sa anomang banta ng kapahamakan.Ang BJMP ay may kumunidad na inaalagaan, isang kumunidad na puno ng mga taong sanay sa karahasan, sa kanilang pangangalaga sa mga piitan sila ay nagiging BUMBERO sa panahon ng sunog o anumang kalamidad, JAILER upang masigurado na ikaw ay ligtas mula sa mga taong maaaring magdala ng peligro sa iyong buhay. MILITAR - handang sumuong sa anomang bakbakan para depensahan ang mga taong naligaw ng landas para mabigyan ng pangalawang pagkakataon. PULIS para
panatilihin ang kaligtasan ng lahat. Sa panahon ng national emergency o anumang digmaan laban sa kanino mang magtangkang sakupin ang ating bansa, ang BJMP ay inatasan ng batas na sumuporta o tumulong sa Armed Forces of the Philippines upang makidigma. Iyan ang inyong BJMP!

Mind you guys, Police officers only contact is only during apprehension with a ratio of one (1) suspect to as many Pulis Officers...but Jail Officers keep them in contact for an average of 3-5 years pending litigation of their cases every second of the day 24/7, with a ratio of 1 Jail Officer to as high as hundred inmates (1:100).

We work with our clients - one who commits petty crimes to a convicted vicious Murderers or Ra**st to name some and we live with them second everyday outnumbered with a ratio of 1 officer to 40 inmates per shift or higher,
We transport inmates far from international standard with a ratio of 1 officer to 1 inmate...during inmate transport we goes to 1:10 or higher,
We do our gargantuan job for we act as their parents, counselors, teachers, nurse etc. etc.

You hardly know us, because you seldom see us on teleserye or movies or when you call your local hotline numbers and emergency hotline no. 911.

But we Silently served so that others are safe, and can sleep well on their abode away from this Socially Dangerous Person...Good Night folks, for I will still walk my beat on this wee hours of the night till the end of my Tour of Duty not to mention that we are not receiving Night Shift differential nor Overtime Pay, it's because we are "Sui Generis and Professionals"! We are JAIL OFFICERS not GUARD.
