The Bachelor of Public Administration students proudly participated in the Regional Conference on Population and Development 2026, organized by the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Region XII, held on 21 July 2026 at the Antonina Hurtado Multipurpose Hall, NIA Region XII, Koronadal City, through the initiative of Mrs. Sheila Roma.

Guided by the theme, "Realizing the Hopes and Aspirations of Young People through Population and Development: Building Evidence, Strengthening Partnerships, Transforming Futures," the conference highlighted 𝒂𝒅𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒚 as a pressing governance and development issue that demands 𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆-𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒚, 𝒎𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, and 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒑𝒖𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒄 𝒈𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆.

𝗡𝗗𝗠𝗨 𝗕𝗣𝗔 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗜𝗟𝗚 𝗫𝗜𝗜 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄

Koronadal City — Officers of the Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) program of Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) participated in the Regional Decentralization Conference and the Review of the Local Government Code of 1991 organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region XII. The conference is currently being held at The Farm @ Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City.

The activity convenes key local government leaders, public administrators, policy experts, and institutional partners to discuss proposed reforms aimed at strengthening decentralization, enhancing local autonomy, and improving the responsiveness of local governance. The review of the Local Government Code of 1991 seeks to address emerging governance challenges and align local government functions with contemporary socio-economic realities.

Through their participation, the NDMU BPA officers gained valuable exposure to current policy discussions and reform initiatives concerning local governance and decentralization. The conference also provided an opportunity for academic institutions and government agencies to exchange insights and best practices in public administration and local governance.

The involvement of NDMU BPA officers underscores the university’s commitment to experiential learning and active engagement with governance institutions. By taking part in regional policy dialogues such as this conference, students are able to deepen their understanding of public sector reforms while reinforcing their role as future public servants and leaders.

The Regional Decentralization Conference reflects DILG XII’s continuing efforts to promote responsive, accountable, and empowered local governments in the region through collaborative dialogue and evidence-based policy review.

The Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) and Master of Public Administration (MPA) programs of Notre Dame of Marbel University successfully conducted a seminar titled Youth Empowerment and Moral Recovery Orientation on October 19, 2025 at Sta. Cruz Mission School, Inc., Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.

The activity aimed to empower the youth through values formation, moral recovery, and responsible leadership, encouraging them to become active agents of positive change in their communities. Students and faculty from BPA and MPA facilitated meaningful discussions and interactive sessions that highlighted integrity, civic responsibility, and ethical leadership.

This initiative reflects NDMU’s continued commitment to community engagement, youth development, and nation-building. ✨
