Marie Lu is a top 1 New York Times bestselling American author of young adult, fantasy, sci-fi, and dystopian novels. Marie Lu is known for her famous novel “𝙇𝙚𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙙” (2011), which is an instant bestseller. The book genres were sci-fi, fantasy, young adult, and dystopian. Her usual stories often explore loyalty, justice, identity, power, and inequality that have fast-paced plots and strong young characters.

Before being an author, she worked as an artist director at Disney Interactive Studios (video games) and graduated from the University of Southern California with degrees in political science and biology. Fun facts about her famous book "Legend" are that she got the idea for the book while watching the movie Les Miserables and imagined it as being set in a futuristic setting.

The author of the week left a famous quote from her book:"𝐸𝒶𝒸𝒽 𝒹𝒶𝓎 𝓂𝑒𝒶𝓃𝓈 𝒶 𝓃𝑒𝓌 𝓉𝓌𝑒𝓃𝓉𝓎-𝒻𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝒽𝑜𝓊𝓇𝓈. 𝐸𝒶𝒸𝒽 𝒹𝒶𝓎 𝓂𝑒𝒶𝓃𝓈 𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝓎𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔’𝓈 𝓅𝑜𝓈𝓈𝒾𝒷𝓁𝑒 𝒶𝑔𝒶𝒾𝓃. 𝒴𝑜𝓊 𝓁𝒾𝓋𝑒 𝒾𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓂𝑜𝓂𝑒𝓃𝓉, 𝒹𝒾𝑒 𝒾𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓂𝑜𝓂𝑒𝓃𝓉, 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓉𝒶𝓀𝑒 𝒾𝓉 𝒶𝓁𝓁 𝑜𝓃𝑒 𝒹𝒶𝓎 𝒶𝓉 𝒶 𝓉𝒾𝓂𝑒." That means every sunrise is a new fresh start; no matter how difficult our yesterday was, today is a clean and brand-new chance to change, grow, and begin again. This focused on living fully in the present day and living our past closed.

The word of the week is "𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆." It is a noun that means the ability to stay calm and the ability to wait or endure hardships calmly without getting frustrated. The etymology of the word is from the Latin word "𝓟𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓲𝓪," which means bearing, suffering calmly, and enduring. The old French “𝓟𝓪𝓬𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓬𝓮” then later shifted to “𝓟𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓬𝓮” in the Middle English era. The Latin verb “𝓟𝓪𝓽𝓲” means suffer, endure, bear, and undergo. “𝓔𝓷𝓬𝓮” means the state or quality of something. This literally means in Latin ”the quality of enduring or bearing things calmly. In a sentence, patience can be used as "𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚, 𝙨𝙤 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨."

In addition, Patience is used in one of the famous quotes, “𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒂𝒊𝒕, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒂 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈," which highlights that patience is a heart and mindset and not just a clock ticking. Trust the process along the way with the heart and passion for succeeding or achieving something.

This beautiful verse is such a powerful and comforting reminder for all of us, especially in times when we feel uncertain, worried, or afraid of what lies ahead. Life often brings us challenges, moments of doubt, and situations that make us want to hold back or give up — but God’s message to us is clear: ʙᴇ ꜱᴛʀᴏɴɢ ᴀɴᴅ ᴄᴏᴜʀᴀɢᴇᴏᴜꜱ.

You don’t have to do it alone, you are not alone.
Every journey that you have is a journey with god,
Being strong is not just for outside it is for us to protect our peace and strong and corageous means confidence to us, sometimes we forgot that being strong and corageous is such a wonderful weapon for us to carry.

It doesn’t mean we won’t feel fear or that things will always be easy. It means even when we are afraid, even when things are unclear, we can still move forward with confidence because we are never walking alone, we always have god with us to guide.

Our Word of the Week is "𝑯𝒖𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚." This is a noun that is associated with being humble and realistic, acknowledging your abilities without being arrogant compared to other people. The word derives from the Latin term "humilitas" which means "𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬" or "𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬." Humility is the opposite of pride and arrogance, as it shows a modest perception of one’s significance.

Let’s all embrace HUMILITY in our words, actions, and interactions with others. By remaining grounded, appreciating the contributions of others, and being open to learning, we create a community in which everyone feels valued and respected. Remember, being humble does not mean thinking less of yourself – it means knowing that there is always something to learn and someone to appreciate.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗯, 𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗮?

Ayun nagpa-register na, registered na ba ang lahat ng club? Avisala!! 𝑩𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝑳𝒊𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑪𝒍𝒖𝒃 was one of the clubs invited to the LYORP event last Friday at Tangulan Arena. Despite the rain, the event still pushes on to give a fun, enjoyable, and educational symposium through the Tironians club leader. This discusses the importance of registering club organisations, and guiding the due process of registering of every club.

𝙃𝙚𝙥 𝙝𝙚𝙥 𝙝𝙚𝙥, uuwi ba ang BLC na walang bitbit? Syempre hindi, di lang kaalaman ang maauwi kundi pati isang sakong bigas at school supplies mula sa free raffle sa LYORP symposium event. Literal na busog na ang utak pati tyan kasama. Ayun may bitbit na bigas pauwi.

Thank you for the wonderful experience that the BLC officer experienced, leading to an enjoyable learning on what to do as a youth organisation here in Kawit. To a warm welcome and engaging teaching.
