MABUHAY ES RAISES PATRIOTISM! LEARNERS CRAFT FLAGS AS SCHOOL PREPARES FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY! 🇵🇭*

On June 11, 2026, Mabuhay Elementary School kicked off Independence Day celebrations with a *Flag-Making Contest* among learners from Kinder to Grade 6. Using recycled and improvised materials, pupils poured their creativity into crafting Philippine flags as a hands-on lesson on national symbols, freedom, and Filipino identity. The activity aimed to instill love of country, resourcefulness, and teamwork while preparing the school community for the 127th Philippine Independence Day on June 12, 2026. Each classroom buzzed with red, white, blue, and gold as learners proudly displayed their work, turning the campus into a sea of patriotism ahead of the national holiday.

To recognize excellence, Charisse P Paragoso, the Principal and *Administrative Officer II, Alona Jane Leorna personally visited every grade level to select the *“Best Flag Maker” per grade*. Judging was based on accuracy of design, neatness, creativity, and proper use of materials. The winning flags will be announced on Monday. By creating the flag with their own hands, our learners internalize its meaning and value our freedom more deeply,. Mabuhay ES continues to nurture patriotic and responsible learners, one flag at a time.

*1. Transparency sa need*
_Unsa buhaton:_ Teachers + school head mag-list sa exact tasks nga bayran: pintura, carpentry, electrical. Pila ka adlaw, pila ka tao, pila ang rate/day.
_Nganong effective:_ Mas dali mangayo ug donation kung naa specific nga "need ₱300/day x 3 carpenters x 2 days = ₱1,800"

*2. Pangayo sa Barangay/LGU*
_Unsa buhaton:_ Same sa gihimo sa Capungagan Council. Mag-submit ug letter request para "cash assistance for labor" under Brigada Eskwela or materials
_Key point:_ I-highlight nga for safety sa mga bata ang trabaho - dili lang aesthetics.

*3. PTA + Stakeholder pooling*
_Unsa buhaton:_ Teachers mag-meeting sa PTA. Kung ₱50-100 per parent x 200 parents = ₱10k-20k na. Ipalibog nga "para sa labor" kay gamay ra volunteers.
_Alternative:_ Pangayo sa alumni, Sangguniang Kabataan, local businesses.

*4. "Sweat Equity" Option*
_Unsa buhaton:_ Kung di kaya cash tanan, teachers mag-offer: Parents nga di ka-volunteer time, pwede cash lang. Parents nga di ka-cash, volunteer time.
_Result:_ Naay pundo para sweldo, naay free labor gihapon.

" Tungod sa kakulang sa volunteers, ang eskwelahan nagkinahanglan ug cash assistance para sa sweldo sa mga skilled workers nga mag-ayo sa kisame, CR, electrical] para sa kaluwasan sa mga estudyante."

PD training across learning areas is important!
It helps teachers stay updated with new methods and tech, boosting student engagement and outcomes.

The recent training of Mabuhay ES is Training Workshop on teaching strategies across learning areas from Feb 20-22, 2026 was a huge success!
