Another CS Milestone in Research Achieved!!!
We are pleased to announce that the research paper titled “FOMaC-Autoformer: A Hybrid First Order Markov Chain-Autoformer Model for Dengue Incidence Forecasting in the City of Manila” was successfully presented at the 11th International Conference on Big Data Analytics (ICBDA 2026), held on April 11–14, 2026 at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan.
The study, authored by Carl Jacob Mateo, Dodge Deiniol Lapis, Jose Rafael Crisostomo, Jan Vincent Elleazar, and Thesis Adviser Asst. Prof. Cherry Rose Estabillo, underwent a rigorous double-blind peer review process and was accepted for oral presentation and publication in the conference proceedings.
Representing the team at the international conference were student researchers Carl Jacob Mateo, Dodge Deiniol Lapis, and Jose Rafael Crisostomo, who actively engaged with global scholars and practitioners in the field of big data analytics.

We are especially proud to share that Dodge Deiniol Lapis was recognized with the Best Presenter Award, highlighting the quality of the research and excellence in scholarly communication.

This achievement reflects the team’s dedication to advancing data-driven solutions for real-world problems and underscores the institution’s commitment to research, innovation, and global academic collaboration.

CS students shine on the global stage!

Senior Computer Science students Lourdes Grace Dupaya, Mervin Joseph Gatpandan, Jamie Danielle Jalandoni, and Ivan Lawrence Mendoza, together with their adviser Asst. Prof. Cherry Rose Estabillo, successfully presented their research at the International Conference on Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (ICBCB 2026) in Kitakyushu, Japan.

Their study, “Secondary Cancer Risk Detection Using Genetic Markers,” highlights the power of machine learning in advancing healthcare and cancer risk prediction.
