The South Twinklers' young campus journalists showcased exceptional talent and journalistic skill during the 2025 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) held at the Iloilo Grand Hotel, April 5-7, 2025.
In the individual contests, Zyanna Mangao, a Grade 6 pupil clinched 5th place while Editorial cartoonist Faith Matthea Y. Higgins, a grade 6 pupil too secured 10th place in Editorial Cartooning.
Further strengthening the publication’s success, three more South Twinklers staffers qualifiers: Aehro Jeush F. Tibus – Sports Writing (English), Caleb Anton R. Albito – Photojournalism (English), and Danielle Renee J. Orcena – Feature Writing (English)
In the group contest categories, the South Twinklers team made their mark once again with commendable performances. The Collaborative Desktop Publishing team was composed of Aaliyah Star Moguies, Xabreena Brienne Sagandoy, Janella Lois Lima, Janielle Victoria Lava, Viel Chari Montero, Brianna Kyla Atencio, and Reyn Iris Bitolinamesa. Meanwhile, the Radio Broadcasting team included Jaco Nathaniel Gilapay, Arthus Colmedora, Ian Andre Abalajon, Jhulian Dominic Vidaurazaga, Jillian Gerogalin, Eviannah Cuachon, and Ian Alwyn Denila. While both teams were not able to secure a spot in regionals, their teamwork, creativity, and dedication were evident throughout the competition, bringing pride to the school.
Their performance reflects the dedication and skill of the South Twinklers publication team, as well as the unwavering support of their coaches — Teacher Josieray Alpay, Teacher Risa Ordinesa, Teacher Mistry Rose Perido, and Sir Lemar Bati-on — and the entire school community. The team continues to carry the torch of campus journalism with pride and passion.
