Some people lead by title. Others lead by example. For nine years, former ECLC PTC President Alfaravy Mambra Adil quietly did both.
As we continue to build another meaningful year at ECLC, we pause to honor a leader whose selfless dedication has left an enduring mark on our school community.
During the recent ECLC PTC General Assembly, Kaka—as Cher Ping and many members of the ECLC family fondly call him—expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the parents and teachers who stood beside him throughout his nine years of service. Yet anyone who knows him understands that his appreciation goes beyond words. His leadership has always been rooted in humility, sincerity, and a genuine desire to serve.
To many, he was more than a PTC President; he was a familiar face around the school. On ordinary weekdays, it was common to see him chatting with fellow parents, sharing stories about life, exchanging laughter, and building friendships that made ECLC feel less like a school and more like a family. His presence brought warmth, encouragement, and a genuine sense of belonging to the community.
His connection to ECLC runs deep. As an alumnus of the school and a father of three children who have been part of ECLC family—two of whom have already graduated— he has witnessed the school's impact across generations. He firmly believed in the value of quality education. No matter how challenging life became, he continued to choose ECLC for his children because he trusted the school to provide the kind of education they deserved. His confidence in the institution was reflected not only in the education he sought for his own family but also in the countless hours he devoted to making the school a better place for every child.
His leadership was evident in the meaningful improvements he helped realize, including the vibrant mural paintings that brought color and life to the school and the installation of CCTV cameras that strengthened the safety and security of our learners. Yet his greatest contributions were never measured by infrastructure alone.
Together with his wife, Jonnette Adil, he could often be seen taking care of our BSP and GSP participants during scouting activities. They were always among the first to arrive and the last to leave, quietly ensuring that every child was well cared for. From setting up and looking after the campsite to preparing warm meals for the participants, they willingly embraced every task with love, patience, and dedication. Whether offering words of encouragement, lending a helping hand, or simply being present whenever support was needed, they served with humble hearts and unwavering commitment. They never sought recognition or praise—only the joy of seeing every child safe, happy, and creating memories that would last a lifetime.
It is often said that the greatest leaders are those who serve without seeking the spotlight, and Kaka embodied that kind of leadership. His kindness, volunteerism, commitment, and genuine concern for the welfare of every ECLCian have inspired parents, teachers, and learners alike.
Thank you, Kaka, for nine remarkable years of faithful service. Your legacy is found not only in the projects you initiated or the improvements you helped realize, but more importantly in the lives you touched, the school community you strengthened, and the example of servant leadership you so graciously lived. You will always be a cherished part of the ECLC family, and your story will continue to inspire generations of ECLCians.
