CHED and Sulu State University Conduct Courtesy Visit to the Office of the Sulu Vice Governor

The Commission on Higher Education led by Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis together with the Sulu State University headed by University President Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Vice Governor of the Province of Sulu.

The delegation was warmly received by Vice Governor Hon. Abdusakur M. Tan, where discussions highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between the higher education sector and the provincial government in advancing quality education and sustainable development initiatives in the province.

The Sulu State University would like to express its gratitude to Governor Hon. Abdusakur M. Tan and the Provincial Government of Sulu for their unwavering support of Sulu State University and their continued commitment to promoting accessible, quality higher education and regional progress.

Sulu State University Holds Ceremonial Unveiling of University Seal

Sulu State University (SuluSU) officially held the Ceremonial Unveiling of its University Seal at the Main Entrance of the campus, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s continuing journey as a state university.

The event commenced with the warm welcome of the Guests of Honor, led by Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), together with officials from CHED Regional Office IX and other distinguished guests. They were received by University officials, faculty members, staff, and students in a display of unity and pride.

The unveiling ceremony was jointly led by Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis and University President Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, symbolizing the University’s strengthened identity and steadfast commitment to excellence in instruction, research, extension, and public service.

The newly unveiled University Seal stands as an enduring representation of Sulu State University’s vision, values, and aspirations as it continues to empower future generations through quality and inclusive higher education.

Sulu State University (SSU) convened faculty members, researchers, and key stakeholders for the Futures Research Agenda Workshop: “Futures Thinking towards Sustainable Development with the ACACIA-ASCENT Framework,” held at the Conference Hall and Boardroom from June 14 to 15, 2026.

Sulu State University announces the observance of Amun Jadid (Islamic New Year) 1448H. May this occasion inspire reflection, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to faith, peace, and unity among the Muslim Ummah.

In observance of this significant occasion, and pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 1083, otherwise known as the Code of Muslim Personal Laws of the Philippines, classes and office operations are suspended on June 16, 2026 (Tuesday), corresponding to the 1st day of Muharram 1448H.

Regular classes and office operations shall resume on the next working day.
