SANTO TOMAS, ISABELA โ Calanigan National High School (CNHS) held its 4th General School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) Meeting on Saturday at the school covered court, gathering parents, faculty, and stakeholders to discuss key school programs and financial matters. The event opened with performances by the CNHS Pasingan Performing Group, setting a lively tone for the assembly.
The program formally commenced with the opening remarks delivered by Junior High School (JHS) Focal Person Jocelyn V. Gumaru, followed by a message from School Principal III Marites A. Gumaru, PhD, who emphasized the importance of collaborative engagement between parents and educators in advancing student welfare and institutional goals. The meeting proper featured a series of financial reports, including updates on the SPTA Fund by Treasurer Milagros A. Tangonan and the School Paper fund by Noemi M. Gonzales, alongside reports on the athletic fee and the Inatata Streetdance competition fund presented by Elma G. Coloma and Leonardo A. Ramos Jr., respectively.
Discussions also covered donations for the upcoming moving-up and graduation ceremonies, as well as a presentation of CNHS achievements by SPTA Coordinator Darrell D. Bumagat. The meeting concluded with closing remarks from SHS Focal Person Mellenlou A. Pua, who expressed gratitude to the attendees for their continued support and active participation.

With hearts full of gratitude and eyes set on the future, completers and graduates of Calanigan National High School gathered with their parents and guardians on March 27 for a Thanksgiving Service that put faith and character at the forefront. Under the theme โFilipino Graduates: Prepared to Lead with Character,โ the celebration underscored the importance of spiritual grounding alongside academic achievement.
The program opened with an invocation by Bro. Allan Christopher G. Uban and hymns led by Bro. Danny Boy M. Subia, setting a reflective tone that resonated with students and parents alike.
Keynote speaker Pastor Daniel Joshua Villa Jimenez of Christian Baptist Church, Cauayan City, inspired the completers and graduates to embrace a faith-centered path. โTrue success begins when Jesus is first in every step,โ Pastor Jimenez said, urging them to lead with humility, uphold integrity, and anchor their dreams in character.

In response to the national governmentโs call for heightened disaster preparedness, Calanigan National High School (CNHS) participated in the First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on March 12.
Students, teachers, and school personnel took part in the activity, which aimed to strengthen awareness and readiness in responding to potential earthquake emergencies. Participants practiced the standard safety procedure โDuck, Cover, and Hold,โ emphasizing the importance of staying calm and alert during seismic events.
Through initiatives like this, the school continues to promote a culture of safety and preparedness within the school community.

Calanigan National High School (CNHS) once again brought pride to its community after receiving multiple recognitions during the 2026 Search for the Best School Implementer of Project UMAGA (Unified Melodies and Allegiance: Gathering Affirmations) in the Schools Division of Isabela on Thursday, March 12, 2026.
The school was awarded 1st Runner-Up for Best School Implementer of Project UMAGA and was also honored with the Best Cultural Identity Celebration Award, recognizing its outstanding efforts in preserving and showcasing cultural heritage through meaningful activities and initiatives that celebrate local traditions and identity.
Further adding to the schoolโs achievements, Mr. Darrell D. Bumagat was recognized as 1st Runner-Up for Best School Coordinator Implementer of Project UMAGA.
