The 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) was successfully conducted at Imelda R. Marcos High School Annex to promote earthquake preparedness and safety awareness among students, teachers, and staff. The activity allowed participants to practice the proper response during an earthquake, particularly the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure. Through this drill, the school community strengthened their readiness and emphasized the importance of staying calm, alert, and prepared in case of real emergency situations. 🚨🏫

Imelda R. Marcos High School–Annex successfully conducted its State of the School Address (SOSA) alongside the 3rd SPTA General Assembly, bringing together key stakeholders to provide a comprehensive overview of the school’s current condition, notable achievements, and future development plans.

During her State of the School Address, Dr. Mary Ann C. Palma emphasized the school’s steady increase in student enrollment, attributing this growth to the collaborative efforts of the school community in reaching SARDOs, out-of-school youth, and Balik-Aral learners. She reaffirmed the school’s strong commitment to delivering accessible, inclusive, and quality education in line with the MATATAG K–10 curriculum. Dr. Palma also highlighted the achievements: the ARAL program implementation to address learning gaps and promoted to ARAL plus and to non-academic-the school’s athletes who successfully qualified for both provincial and area meet levels, showcasing excellence beyond academics.

The school continues to enhance its learning environment, maximizing the use of learning materials, including TVs, laboratory equipment and laptops, aimed at strengthening classroom instruction and improving student learning outcomes.

In line with its development goals, Imelda R. Marcos High School–Annex is also preparing for the construction of new facilities, including a gymnasium and classroom buildings which will further support academic, athletic, and co-curricular activities.

The SPTA officers, led by Mr. Gilbert Batag, who pledged their full support and cooperation in advancing the school’s programs and initiatives. Hon. Bobby B. Mabbayad, Barangay Captain, delivered a message of support and emphasized the local government’s commitment to strengthen partnerships to ensure the continued growth and success of the school.

NEW GYMNASIUM CONSTRUCTION BEGINS!

The long-awaited dream of having a modern and fully equipped gymnasium for Imelda R. Marcos High School – Annex is finally becoming a reality. After 18 years of serving the community and holding on to unwavering aspirations, the construction of the new school gymnasium has officially commenced—representing a proud moment for the whole community.

This major development was made possible through the steadfast support of former Congressman FAUSTINO 'INNO' A. DY V who now serves as the newly elected Mayor. His commitment to improving educational facilities and providing better learning environments for students has paved the way for this important project. The school community extends its heartfelt gratitude for his continued dedication, ensuring that learners have access not only to quality instruction but also to safe and enhanced spaces for physical development, events, and community activities.

The new gymnasium is envisioned to be a multi-purpose facility that will serve as a venue for sports training, school programs, assemblies, and various extracurricular activities. It will also provide a comfortable and resilient space that can accommodate both students and the wider community during events.

School officials, teachers, parents, and students alike expressed their excitement and appreciation during the groundbreaking ceremony, viewing the construction as a symbol of growth, progress, and renewed opportunities for the youth of Barangay Mabbayad.
