Someone who is simply trying to improve and create a better opportunity for themselves. 💜

But please do it with kindness and respect.

We don't know what someone is going through behind the screen, and a few careless words can stay with someone much longer than we realize.

🚫 Things to Avoid in an ESL Teacher Intro Video

❌ A long list of qualifications
Mention your most relevant certifications and experience, but don't turn your intro into a résumé reading.

❌ Reading like a robot 🤖
A script is helpful, but don't sound like you're reciting a textbook. Use natural expressions and gestures.

❌ Distracting backgrounds
Your background should support your presentation, not compete with you.

❌ Poor audio 🎙️
A beautiful video won't help much if the recruiter can barely hear you.

❌ Too many effects and stickers
Editing should enhance your personality, not bury it under fireworks, emojis, and spinning text.

Start with confidence and let your personality shine.

Your intro video should answer three things:

Who are you?
Why are you a good teacher?
Why should a student/recruiter remember you?

Your intro video isn't supposed to prove that you're perfect. It's supposed to make them curious to meet you. 🎥💜

💜 A LITTLE CLARIFICATION FROM TEACHER MADZ EDITS

Recently, there has been a discussion about editors posting their clients' intro videos, even when the client has given permission.

I understand the concern about privacy, and I genuinely respect it.

But I also want to clarify something about my own practice.

I do not post a teacher's video without their permission.

When I feature an intro video on my page, it is because the teacher has agreed to let me showcase the finished work. These videos serve as part of my portfolio and allow potential clients to see the kind of editing, creativity, and presentation I can provide.

At the same time, I understand that not every teacher wants their video publicly posted, and that choice should always be respected.

So moving forward, I'll be making this even clearer with my clients:

Want your video featured? With your permission, I'll showcase it.
Want your video kept private? Absolutely respected.
Your choice comes first.

And one more thing...

I don't post these videos because I believe the teachers are "perfect." Nobody is. We all have accents, pronunciation quirks, nervous moments, and things we can improve. That's part of being human.

My job is to help teachers present themselves with more confidence and personality, while improving the video through editing, visuals, pacing, captions, effects, and storytelling.

I also appreciate constructive feedback. It helps me reflect on how I can improve my own service and better protect my clients.

But I hope we can remember one thing:

Behind every intro video is a real teacher trying to create an opportunity for themselves.

Let's encourage teachers to improve without making them afraid to put themselves out there. 💜

🚨 TEACHER COMMUNITY, I NEED YOUR HELP.

A video belonging to one of my clients was taken from my page and reposted without permission, and it was then used to publicly criticize and humiliate the teacher featured in the video.

This is not about being afraid of criticism. I welcome constructive feedback. What concerns me is taking someone's content without permission and using it to put another teacher down.

I am NOT asking anyone to harass, threaten, or send hateful messages to the person.

I simply want to protect my client's work and remind everyone that teachers deserve respect, and creators deserve permission before their content is reused.
