LPU Manila Graduate Studies students recently conducted an outreach activity in Baseco, Tondo, Manila, engaging with members of the local fisherfolk community. COSeL/QC8 Annual Planning and Participatory Action Research successfully brought together dedicated representatives from various colleges and units for two days of collaborative planning, meaningful reflection, and research-driven discussions.
We extend our sincere appreciation to all participants and speakers whose active engagement and valuable contributions made this event a success.

We visited our nine partner schools in Quezon together with volunteers from the Health Services Department (HSD) and the SHL Academic Resource Center (SHL-ARC) to conduct WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) Training. With the active participation of students, and the guidance of school teachers and administrators, the sessions became both engaging and meaningful. This initiative forms part of our counterpart support to the ongoing HapagAsa Integrated Feeding Program in partnership with the Assisi Development Foundation—recognizing that proper nutrition and good hygiene must go hand in hand to truly improve children’s health and well-being.
Through discussions and demonstrations on proper handwashing, toothbrushing, bathing, and other essential hygiene practices, we aimed to help ensure that the children fully benefit from the feeding program in a safe and healthy way. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to LPU Management for their continued support of our initiatives. We are also deeply grateful to the Assisi Development Foundation Inc. (ADFI) for their continued partnership and commitment to our shared programs. Likewise, we thank our local partners—LGU, DepEd, and NICP—for their collaboration. Special thanks as well to Nurse Susan from HSD for helping facilitate the training, together with Roi from SHL-ARC. This activity is a reminder that beyond providing food, nurturing lifelong habits of cleanliness and care is equally vital in building healthier communities. Our recent visit with our partner communities in Quezon was a meaningful and inspiring experience. We were joined by volunteers from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and the College of Technology (COT) in celebrating the achievements of students from our partner communities.
Together, we attended the commencement and moving-up ceremonies of learners who are beneficiaries of our IPED and HapagAsa Feeding Programs, implemented in partnership with the Assisi Development Foundation. Witnessing these milestones reminds us of the vital role of education in shaping the future of indigenous youth—opening opportunities, strengthening identity, and empowering them to uplift their communities. We extend our sincere gratitude to our dedicated DepEd teacher-partners, supportive parents, and committed community leaders whose collaboration and hard work continue to make these programs successful and impactful.
This experience also highlights the true spirit of volunteerism—where time, effort, and compassion come together to create meaningful change. Working alongside and for our indigenous communities deepens our understanding of their realities and strengthens our commitment to inclusive and culturally sensitive development. As part of LPU’s indigenous peoples advocacy, these initiatives affirm our mission to promote access to education, protect cultural heritage, and support sustainable community development. Through continued partnership and service, we remain committed to walking with our partner communities toward a more empowered and equitable future. Makmok a salamat!

Donation Drive – LPU Community!
Thank you for your generous support for the fire victims of Barangay 655. We sincerely appreciate the kindness and solidarity shown by all students, faculty, staff, alumni, Nurse Susan of HSD, sir Sanny of OUR, the Custodial and and Ms. Jovy Cuadra for facilitating the donation drive, along with her students who extended their help.
Another act of generosity from our Graduate School students has also reached the fire victims of Brgy. 655, Intramuros, Manila. We sincerely thank Dean Samuel Chua, Dr. Dellova Ms. Aiza, Ms. Angel for their assistance in making this effort possible.
