Janagap-Cadion tandem wins SBO elections
Mr. Ian Clyde Janagap and Mr. LyzanderCadion both from Partidong Mag-aaralparasaSambayanan (PANGMASA) were elected as chairperson and vice chairperson,respectively during the Student Body Organization elections onMonday, March 5, 2012.
Janagap beat Mr. Rodrigo Bolivar Jr. of the Voices of Intelligent, Capable and Enthusiastic Students (VOICES) for chairperson (467-266), while Cadionwon over JoeffredCastroverde (VOICES) for vice chairperson (376-323).
On the other hand, Queennie Mae Carado (PANGMASA) topped the 37 candidates running for councilor followed by (2) Jennifer Lozada (Independent), (3) Melvin Calfoforo (VOICES), (4) Hussel Rey Hurtada (PANGMASA), (5) Rose Lorraine Joyce Franco (VOICES),
(6) Sherly Fundal (VOICES), (7) Axel Rose Arandela (PANGMASA), (8) Neil Castro (PANGMASA), (9) LemuelPareja (PANGMASA), (10) MarjohnBarnizo (VOICES), (11) JunielDapat (PANGMASA), (12) JeathlyTagasling (PANGMASA), (13) Rejan Gonzales (VOICES), (14) Girly Vannesa Joy Gallego (PANGMASA), (15) Eugene Zante (VOICES), (16) JahnicaLumauag (PANGMASA), (17) JomarLamilla (VOICES), and Yves Rossel Silos (VOICES) for the 18th spot.
Mr. Janagapis a BE Ed 3 student and the vice president of the Society of Education Students (SES) while Mr. Cadion is a BS Ed-English 3 student and the former managing editor of the Golden Harvest.
The new SBO officers-elect will take their oath of office on March 21, 2012 during the recognition program.
The SBO election was spearheaded by the University Student Electoral Committee (USEC) with Mr. Aaron Carpeso as chairman and Ms. Recel Cabral as adviser.
The SBO,being the umbrella organization of all student organizations in the campus,serves as the voice of the whole studentry.
The term of office of the newly elected SBO officers will start on the first semester of the academic year 2012 – 2013.
