Mina NHS SSLG joins Mina Summer Youth Camp 2026
Mina NHS Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) participated in Mina Summer Youth Camp, April 21-23.
It aims to spread awareness about the global objectives for the improvement of the community and knowledge about the importance and structure of the Sangguniang Kabataan.
The program concluded with the giving of certificate to the particicpants of the initiative.
The completion of this Summer Youth Camp serves as a significant way to foster development, growth, and active participation of the youth of Mina.

Mina SSLG joins Claim Your Space National Youth Summit 2026
Last April 18, the Mina Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) took part in Claim Your Space National Youth Summit 2026: The Role of Men, Women, and LGBTQIA+ in the Movement for Safe Spaces by KAWSA Philippines.
The summit was held on Microsoft Teams and Facebook Live with student councils from all over the country. We talked about the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313), LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and what we as youth can do to make our schools and communities safer for everyone.
It was a space for students to speak up, share experiences, and stand for the rights of every Filipino. Small steps like these help build a community where people feel respected for who they are.

SSLG Holds First GPOA Meetingโผ๏ธ
The SSLG Officers for S.Y. 2026-2027 recently held their first meeting regarding their GPOA (General Plan of Action), led by SSLG Advisor, Ma'am Globelle C. Quillain, SSLG President Cristine Joy Caguing, Vice President Althea Nhicole Punzalan, Secretary Bless Casumpang, and the rest of the SSLG Officers, at Mina National High School, Room 64, March 30.
The meeting discussed future projects under the four core values: Maka-Diyos, Maka-Kalikasan, Maka-Tao, and Maka-Bansa. With this forum, the organization can start implementing proposals efficiently and sustainably, ensuring a smooth flow of activities for the next school year.

"Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas!" โ๏ธ๐๐งโโ๏ธ
The 2026 National Women's Month Celebration with the theme "Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas!" was launched at the Mina National High School Gymnasium, Thursday, March 19.
The said program consisting Cosplay Parade and Presentation, and Numeracy and Literacy Presentation, was led by Mrs. Agumar C. Mana-ay, Head Teacher III and GAD Coordinator, Dr. Bimbo S. Casquite, PhD, PSDS District of Mina, and officials of the Gender and Development (GAD) Club.
It was attended by students from Grade 7 to Grade 12 curriculum.
The said program aims to recognize the important role, diligence, strength, and contribution of women in the development of society to promote gender-equality, women's rights, and end discrimination against them.

Preparedness and Awareness in Action! ๐ชโจ
The SSLG joined the Basic Rope Rescue and Firefighting Techniques Training on Mina NHS Gymnasium, March 18.
It was led by Sir Fritz Brizal, the SWAT team, Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). Different topics such as the Phases of Firefighting, 3 Types of Couplings, and Methods of Heat Transfer was discussed, led by Cresencio F. Pamplona, FO2, and JR L. Lacupa, FO1.
Other organizations including Youth for Environment and Schools Organization (YES-O), Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD), and Drum and Lyre Corps (DLC) also joined the training.
It aims to equip them with foundational safety knowledge, technical skills, and practical experience to respond to emergencies, manage risks, and perform safe rescue operations.

Guided Strands, Successful Plans!
The Orientation of the Strengthened Senior High School Program was held at Mina National High School Gymnasium, March 16.
It was attended by the Grade 10 students, led by Dr. Lea P. Huelgas, Principal IV, and Dr. Johna P. Mana-ay, Assistant School Principal II.
The session discussed the reduction of tracks into two strands (Academic and Technical Professional), the five core subjects, streamlined and updated electives, and other matters concerning the Strengthened Senior High School (SSHS).
The orientation aims to give a clear knowledge about the basic concept of the new program to the Grade 10 students, which can help in their decision-making on which track they will choose for the next school year.
