The Supreme Secondary Learners Government held their 4th general meeting this afternoon, August 20. This activity aims to strengthen unity, leadership and commitment among each members and this brought everyone together to discuss important matters, share ideas, and to making every voice heard.

The meeting was led by the SSLG President, Cristine joy Caguing and the SSLG Secretary, Bless Casumpang to make sure that the meeting went smoothly. Through collaboration, communication, and shared commitment, the SSLG continues to turn ideas into meaningful actions for the students. ✨

Together, we listen. Together, we plan. Together, we move forward.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻! 🗣️

The Supreme Secondary Learners Government (SSLG) held a debate activity where the voices of every council is heard in celebration of International Youth Day with the theme, "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations" inside the gymnasium on August 13, 2026.

A meaningful debate where different perspectives of each council representative arose, their strong arguments and their firm convictions came together. More than just proving a point, and this activity challenged everyone to listen, understand, and stand for what they believe in.

𝙄𝙉𝙏𝙀𝙍𝙉𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉𝘼𝙇 𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙏𝙃 𝘿𝘼𝙔 ‼️

International Youth Day is a global celebration observed every August 12. It was established by the United Nations to draw attention to the issues, rights, and potential of young people as important members and drivers of change in society.

It was proposed in 1991 by the youth delegates during the first session of the United Nations System World Youth Forum. The United Nations General Assembly officially designated August 12 as International Youth Day on 17 December, 1999, following recommendations from the 1998 World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth.

This recognizes and celebrates the potential, talent, intelligence, and creativity of young people. It also addresses the challenges they face such as education, employment, health, and participation in governance. Most importantly, it gives them a platform so their voices, opinions, and dreams for the community can be heard.

Young people are not just the hope of our nation, they contribute greatly and already have the ability to change and improve our society today.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗳 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆

The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) President, Cristine Joy Caguing, takes the mic during the Flag Raising Ceremony on August 10, 2026, as she officially announces the activities prepared for the month of August, celebrating both Buwan ng Wika and International Youth Day 2026 with the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.”

Speaking in Filipino in celebration of Buwan ng Wika, she introduced the significance of International Youth Day, a global observance held every August 12 that highlights the rights, potential, voices, and contributions of young people in society.

In her address, she emphasized the importance of recognizing the potential of the youth, addressing issues they face, and creating spaces where their voices and aspirations can be heard. She also shared how young people can become active contributors to meaningful change within their communities.

As part of the celebration, the SSLG has prepared a series of activities designed to encourage students to participate, express their perspectives, develop their skills, and engage with fellow youth. In online activities there are: International Youth Day Post (August 12) and NGL Open Forum (August 14) and in-person activities are: Opening of International Youth Day & Trivia (August 10), Youth Debate (August 13) and Simultaneous Literacy, Numeracy & Clean-up Drive ( August 30)

After the introduction by Cristine joy Caguing, the SSLG Vice President, Althea Nhicole Punzalan and the Secretary, Bless Casumpang hosted a trivia to test the learners knowledge about the International Youth Day of each council.

Through these activities, the SSLG hopes to strengthen student participation and remind every young person that their voice, ideas, and actions matter.

𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙜𝙤 𝙣𝙜 𝙆𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙖𝙣 2026: 𝙆𝙞𝙘𝙠-𝙊𝙛𝙛 𝘾𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙆𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙜𝙖 𝙆𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙖𝙣 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 💪🌟

The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) President of Mina NHS, Cristine Joy Caguing together with Dr. Lea P. Huelgas, Principal IV and Mrs. Sharon Biñas, SPTA President, participated on the Kick-Off Ceremony and Kasangga Kabataan Program of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 with the theme: "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations" at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol, Iloilo Province, August 3.

It was also attended by various organizations from different municipalities and schools across the Iloilo Province.The program consist of a forum on School Safety, Career Security, Mental Health Awareness, and Safe Spaces for Youth Empowerment led by various speakers aiming to instill civic responsibility and strong leadership, molding young minds into active, empowered partners and in achieving meaningful progress for the nation.

During the workshop session, SSLG President Cristine Joy Caguing actively participated and presented their activity aiming to share her groups insights about mental health issues, solutions, and the initiatives that exist in line with the issue.
