Heads up, SPJ Qualifiers!

Incoming SPJ Learners together with their Parents are required to attend the orientation on May 26, 2026, 1:30 PM at the TNHS Gymnasium.

This orientation is essential for it will provide clear guidance on the Special Program in Journalism, ensuring that both learners and parents are fully enlightened about SPJ concerns, expectations, and opportunities.

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 116 directing the implementation of Work From Home (WFH) from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the suspension of work from 12:00 PM onward on April 1, 2026 (Wednesday) in government offices to allow employees to properly observe Holy Week, please be informed that the SPJ Orientation for Incoming Learners and Parents scheduled tomorrow is CANCELLED.
The rescheduled date will be announced once finalized. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

The orientation for incoming SPJ learners and parents will be held on April 1, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the TNHS Gymnasium.

The Special Program in Journalism of Tigbauan National High School announces the Official List of 7-SPJ Qualifiers for School Year 2026–2027. After a careful and thorough selection process, thirty (30) aspirants have successfully earned their place in the program. In addition, five (5) applicants have been placed on the waitlist, ready to be considered should slots become available.

Important Reminder for Qualifiers:
All qualifiers must confirm their intention to enroll on March 30, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Confirmation must be made personally to Mrs. Vrenelli Melle Tirado-Saquilabon, 7-SPJ Adviser, at TNHS Two-Storey Building – B13R12.

Please note that failure to confirm within the given schedule will forfeit your slot, which will then be offered to waitlisted candidates.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the qualifiers and commend all applicants for their effort and dedication. This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting journey in journalism, and we look forward to nurturing your talents in the coming school year.

The Special Program in Journalism (SPJ) of Tigbauan National High School announces that the official list of qualifiers for School Year 2026–2027 shall be released earlier than April 6, 2026.
We encourage all applicants, parents, and guardians to stay tuned for the posting of results through this platform.

SPJ CONDUCTS SCREENING FOR ASPIRING STUDENT JOURNALISTS

To shape a new batch of determined young journalists, the Special Program in Journalism (SPJ) of Tigbauan National High School (TNHS) conducted a screening process for 42 applicants on Tuesday, March 24.

Hopeful examinees showed courage as they took the aptitude examination, which started at 8 a.m.

In the afternoon, participants, together with their parents or guardians, proceeded to the conference room for the interview session.

Results of the screening will be released on or before April 6, followed by the confirmation and orientation of qualifiers and their parents on April 10.

Entrance Examination and Interview Reminders:
1.Please come before the set time.
Entrance Examination: March 24, 2026 – 8:00 A.M.
Interview: March 24, 2026 – 1:00 P.M.
2.The SPJ Entrance Examination and Interview will take place in the classrooms of 7- SPJ (B13R12) and 8- SPJ (B13R13) at the JHS-Two-Storey Building, 2nd Floor.
The entrance examination will cover introduction to Journalism, Genres of Journalism, English and Filipino Grammar, and General Information. Please be in casual wear during the interview.
3. Bring one black ballpen and one pencil with eraser.
4. Wear your school ID for Identification purposes.
