Mulave Academy Cohort 4: Character Design for Animation Workshop – A Resounding Success!
Following its exciting relaunch, Mulave Academy kicked off Cohort 4 with none other than Oscar-nominated animation director and Sun Chaser creator, Bobby Pontillas, on September 19, 2025.
The workshop was held at Iloilo Science and Technology University, College of Computing and Informatics, Room 309, La Paz, Iloilo City. A total of 31 participants joined the session, including college students from University of St. La Salle Bacolod, Iloilo Science and Technology University, and West Visayas State University, along with professionals and instructors from the field.
Sir Bobby shared his inspiring journey and insights into character design—highlighting how to build personality into characters and create emotional connections with the audience. His talk not only showcased his creative process but also included heartfelt advice on working in a studio environment, balancing personal life, and staying motivated in the animation industry.
It was an empowering session that brought aspiring artists a step closer to their dreams in animation!
