True to our identity as Iskolar at Maroonong G**o ng Bayan, the gathering brings the Board together not only to attend to organizational matters, but also to reconnect, assess where we are, and decide where we go next. Our Constitution and By-Laws calls us to strengthen alumni bonds, support UP Visayas' education mission, promote lifelong professional growth, mentor future educators, and advance equity and social justice through education.
The agenda opens with thanksgiving and kumustahan and an assessment of Education Summit 2026, followed by discussions on constitutional amendments, the Maroonong G**o Series, future projects, financial and audit matters, membership, linkages, public image, SEC and BIR requirements, the National Assembly, the Book of Abstracts, the Education Alliance initiative from EDSUM, and the continuing partnership and financial settlement with MTAP.
The Board will also explore proposed extension engagements with Aningalan Integrated School in San Remigio, Antique, and Taminla Integrated School in DueΓ±as, Iloilo, alongside other programs and partnerships that can bring the Association's expertise closer to teachers, learners, schools, and communities. This direction reflects the CBL's call for collaboration with UPV and other institutions in alumni engagement, mentorship, extension, and education development.
It is worthy to note that the UPVMEAA has been having its virtual and face-to-face meetings since its inception last year. So far, it has held its meetings in the University of Antique, UP Visayas, West Visayas State University, and DueΓ±as General Comprehensive School. This time, it will conduct its 11th Board Meeting at ISUFST, the school of the current UPVMEAA president (Dr. Herman Lagon), treasuer (Dr. Joan Belga), and board member (Prof. Divine Jinon).

There is much to talk about, much to assess, and certainly much more to do. But there will also be time to catch up, share a meal, laugh, remember why we came together in the first place, and renew the fellowship that keeps an alumni organization alive beyond meetings and minutes.
One alliance. One purpose. One greater impact.
See you there, fellow UPVMEAA Board members! π»
Inspired by UP. Rooted in service. Committed to education.
